The election for IMGFLIP_PRESIDENTS is fundamentally this: A try-out to mod one of the largest and maybe most difficult streams on ImgFlip. Ergo, mod experience is critical and something everyone should consider closely when voting.

PoliticsTOO like PRESIDENTS is also one of ImgFlip’s biggest streams with well over 500 followers, a lot of daily activity, and it’s obviously political and involves complex topics.

I’ve attached a portion of our mod logs which shows how three of our mods (our owner and founder AN0NYM0US, and the two Kaiju mods), have modded the stream.

Over the past 30 days, the two major Kaiju Party candidates only deleted one comment and made one ban. They didn’t disapprove any submitted memes. And as an Owner, I support them fully. I think they’re both fantastic mods for our stream, and I’ve never seen them make a wrong call.

I wouldn’t usually peel back the curtain on our moderation like this, but it’s important for conservatives to know that being liberal doesn’t necessarily mean censorship. That is a toxic myth that creates distrust between conservatives and liberals in social media. Healing our toxic online political divides means attacking that myth.

Kaiju Party is a great choice, and they have the experience and judgment to be great mods here. I would support them here too, since I trust their PoliticsTOO decision-making completely, but I regret I have only one vote to give. Please consider them, even if you’re conservative. Godzilla is a heck of a meme character. They walk the walk. They’re great!

I remember a politicsTOO mod that banned me 6 hours for disagreeing with them, I mean it wasn't far right or anything like that

I can tell you that wasn’t me, as I’ve never given a 6-hour ban. I don’t know the context of that one, but if you have it and you’d like me to do a little digging, I’d be happy to investigate.

We are a liberal stream, but we do value the bipartisan exchange of ideas and being a place where productive debate can take place. One of our stream regulars is a deeply conservative Catholic, but most of us love him, lol, although he does cause sharp conversations at times. I want our mods to consider the value of free speech every time we are looking at a situation.

Cherokee princess person. I gave a no anime violation because somebody posted anime, they replied with something like "so you hate cartoons by Asians and not be white people?" (I'm paraquoting, not word-for-word but i'm not changing them in a way that biases it) I said that if a "white person" drew anime I would hate it just as much, and that technically Asians are white too. The reason for ban was "blatant lies and racism"

Asians are not white. Only people of European decent are white. Japanese people did not have european ancestors. Hence, they are not white

Well it isn't, just like a lot of darker skinned people (Indians who are significantly darker), have near to black skin, but we don't call them black, do we?

Okey, Cherokee told me about something like this. However, she brought a perspective to this I hadn’t considered, which is that blanket dislike for the genre of anime can be essentially anti-Asian.

Personally, I don’t know if I would go that far. Though I’m certainly willing to consider it. It makes sense. Why is posting Spongebob memes, or whatever, considered “normal,” when some people consider memes involving Japanese cartoons to be “weird”? The conclusion that it’s racist is uncomfortable to consider, but we might have to make it on some occasions.

If she sincerely had a basis for her modding decision, then I am not going to question her. She has brought perspectives to modding that have opened my own mind, as a white person, to the experiences of minorities.
