Grandfather was a stone cutter, father was an electrician, I am a carpenter and my wife works in a hospital.
The trades are the way for most people to go. There are too many useless sheepskin out there, with tons of debt attached to them.
One Son is a farmer (he runs three farms) and is a postmaster on C130's in the Air force reserve, one is in local government (streets, sanitation, trees and trapping, the other is a machinist.
One daughter manages a business, two are homemakers home with small children, and my youngest runs a lathe in a machine shop.
Hard work pays well.
I would say the family business is the Christian work ethic.
