No, the fatality rate from COVID-19 is less than a percent. Between .2% & .3%. At some point in the discussion the decimal got "accidentally" removed, and the recycled into math to get an incorrect survival rate, the 97-98% you are using. Its higher 99.7-99.8%. Not quite as high as 99.85% the previous poster indicated, but that may be a direct quote from the south park SARS episode. (And they thought we were panicking/ overreacting to SARS back then)

Nope, that simply isn't the case.
And even if that were the case, that's a HUGE amount of people.
