I think you can compare her to a soldier because she was selected to represent a country that has fractured by the idea of systematic racial and female oppression. By ducking out of her job at a critical time for America, she did a disservice to the cause and the country. She solidified people who are trying not hold stereotypes against groups to continue holding on to them.
The culture and information war is the war that is being fought and doing these things takes people backwards not forwards. That's why low expectations for people perceived as minorities are harmful.
