It is NOT the fact that those 6,000 deaths were the result of the vaccine. "During this time, VAERS received 6,490 reports of death (0.0019%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem."

(from https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html )

So, that includes ALL deaths of anyone who had recently gotten a Covid vaccine, from any cause. It is especially important to remember that one of the first groups of people to receive the vaccine in the US was people who were elderly or vulnerable because of other health conditions -- statistically, groups more likely to die at any time.

Because I have a grim and statistical turn of mind, I wondered how many of those people are likely to die in a given year without Covid in the picture. According to Statista.com, in 2018
( https://www.statista.com/statistics/241572/death-rate-by-age-and-sex-in-the-us/ )

1% of people 55-64 die in a given year, along with 2% of people 65-74, 5% of people 75-84 and 14.5% of people of 85 and up.

Now I'm going to go call my parents and tell them I love them.

That's why I made sure to write 'reported deaths' and not deaths. Also, I purposefully put the highest possible number just to show that even THAT is a tiny percentage out of 342 million shots. Similar to any vaccination, like the flu shot, there will be some anaphylactic reactions out there. There was definitely comorbidities with a lot of vaccine deaths, just like with COVID itself. If my math is correct, U.S. deaths from the virus among people with zero comorbidities (even small ones like obesity), would be about 37,000.

So even if an asteroid fell on them it would be counted as a vaccine death?

It wouldn't be counted as a vaccine death, but it would be reported to VAERS.

Wait . . . DOES the vaccine increase my chances of getting hit by an asteroid? That Fauci is a wily one.

6,000 is too many, 600,000 is worse. Don't use this argument if the anti-vaxxer doesn't care about senior citizens dying though. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fcases-updates%2Fcases-in-us.html#cases_deathsper100klast7days

correlation is not causation. if you die 3 months after getting the vaccine from a heart attack or diabetes they count that as a "death" but they don't say it was from the vaccine. Merely the person that dies HAD the vaccine....then died.

Yeah, the actual number of those dying just from the shot is probably a quarter of my high number of 6,000. A lot of right wing media are straight up lying about the number of deaths from the vaccine.

No, not even a quarter. Think about how many people, especially in the older demographics, would have died from all causes in the 3 month period, then subtract that from the 6000 to get your absolute highest estimate.

Also, the VAERS site goes on, "Anaphylaxis after COVID-19 vaccination is rare and has occurred in approximately 2 to 5 people per million vaccinated in the United States." That doesn't only include fatal anaphylaxis, so of the 342 million doses (probably given to less than 300,000,000 people, you'd expect between 600 & 1500 people in total to have an anaphylactic reaction, and most of those to have survived (which is why they have the mandatory wait time after you get your stick, since anaphylaxis tends to be immediate).

Bottom line -- the phrase "resulting in" in your meme is misleading in a dangerous way: it is contradicted by the information and makes the vaccine sound much more dangerous than it demonstrably is.

True, I suppose it sounds worse to some than it did to me, but I was going with what the CDC reported. Also, I didn't want to do what the anti-vaxx do, when they like to say that COVID has a 99 something percentage survival rate, instead of actually showing the amount of deaths.

That's a valid argument. Some, if not many of the Covid deaths overall fall in this same category.

There is far more causation to covid deaths. For instance People with cancer who may have lived a year or more die from covid related causes. Yes, they would have died of cancer in a year or so….but the cancer didn’t kill them. The covid and associated symptoms etc did. Same with diabetes etc. these “comorbidities” give covid easier access to kill. The vaccine “kills” VERY few people. Some really elderly people that are very frail and close to death already seem to have been the most at risk. I’m willing to bet the vaccine triggers cytokine storm in them and they can’t handle it.
