If you asked a professional historian, they would say that they were protecting the world from fascism, in the form of Nazism and Communism, not against socialism. Also, Nazis put the word socialist in the name of their party to attract people to it - they were pure, far-right fascists.
1. Get a book on Marx and his philosophy or just read his tracts.
2. Get familiar with what the Democrat Party has been and is currently doing.
3. Compare Marx's philosophy to the Democrat Party platform.
Extra credit: do an internet search for the 1932 Nazi Party platform (maybe 1930 but no matter, use which ever one you find) and compare that to the Democrat Party platform.
Then after you have done that then ask yourself if it is paranoia or if it is fact.
