I think it’s fair to say no one in the modern Democratic Party really listens to him anymore. Among living Democratic ex-Presidents, there’s still a lot of love within the Party for Obama and even Carter, but not him.
He had a high approval rating at the time, but Clinton’s Presidency now seems to be remembered for its failures than successes. The crime bill. “Triangulation.” The affairs and of course the impeachment. Despite being a Democrat, by taking little or no steps to reverse Reagan-era policies, Clinton basically ratified Reaganism. We’re paying the costs of that decades later.
Clinton’s self-inflicted wounds probably cost Al Gore the Presidency.
And then there was Hillary Clinton’s failure to beat Trump in ‘16.
