It is said if you want to discover what someone's goal are, just look at the outcome of their actions and it can point you towards their goals.
Take the example of Hitler. Many have said that Hitlers goal was to conquer Europe, but look at the outcome of his actions to discover his real goals. As the allies closed in around him, instead of turning his focus away from his great extermination machine and towards the advancing armies in an attempt to hold onto power, he instead doubled his extermination effort, using the precious few resources he had left to eradicate an already defeated enemy. Hitlers goal was not to conquer Europe, but to destroy it.
Now let's take the example of communism. If I were to point out that every time communism has been tried it had lead to the mass slaughter of civilians and the enslavement of entire populations, I'm sure that you might tell me, "that wasn't real communism, real communism has never been tried". I would tell you that instead of looking at the stated goals of the communist, you should look at the results of their actions to determine their goals.
The goal of communism is murder and slavery. That is real communism.
