What's the dumbest thing Florida Man ever did?
Vote for Trump.

If people weren't fleeing blue states in such huge numbers you'd not see such a swing.

You reap what you sow, Democrats.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication | image tagged in red hot chili peppers californication | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Lol — we actually need all these excess Democratic voters to leave deep blue states California and NY so that 7+ million popular vote victories don’t get overturned by 10,000 vote margins in razor thin purple states

So if that’s happening, bring it on!

Californication of America, baby!

Erm...Everything I've seen indicates that it's red voters fleeing those states. Florida, Montana, etc are all being drowned in red.

Wait it's all Texas | image tagged in wait it's all texas | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
That would make sense if they’re older (tend to be more conservative) and looking for a place to retire.

But also, young people and professionals are leaving pricey states like California, especially since Covid has shown remote work to be quite viable in certain industries. Those demographics skew Democratic. And they don’t necessarily turn Republican when they arrive, or ever.

Apparently, some Texans are all up in arms about the California influx that’s steadily turning them blue(r). But they also pride their state on being a magnet for talent. So… 🧲 🤷‍♂️

Uhh, most people leaving states like NY or CA most commonly leave because either high taxes or the fact they are conservative

Eh, fair. I've not seen any evidence that the exodus is any tinge of blue, but it certainly could happen.

It does aggravate me that people would leave a blue state to escape high costs of living and then vote blue wherever they moved...if red policy made that state an appealing destination, maybe don't eff it up, haha.

Talks about some of the factors.

Well that was certainly interesting. Given it pretty much isolated the housing market as the lever on the floodgate, so to speak, I see no reason why it should be assumed the wave coming into TX should particularly vote against its policy as it relates to that market, at least...part of the lower prices is obviously terrain, since Cali is easily prettier than Texas, but part of it has to stem from the arguably better low-regulation legislative approach as well.

All I know is that here in MT the folk who came in turned this state ruby red...used to be that the Democrats and Republicans always battled mightily for the upper hand in the state despite constantly going red Presidentially...it's an interesting quirk that a couple of interesting books have been written on. This last election cycle though the Republicans, and especially the harder-line wing of the party, completely dominated at every level.

Personally that suits me just fine, but I do wonder where everyone came from..we got so many people the Census gave us a second House seat for the first time in history, which is insane for a state with an intense love for public lands and few people living near them. 😂

Do you live in California by any chance?
If no, move there so you can experience the state

But in 2024, Trump might not be the Republican nominee

He will be. Even if his bad habits kill him.

But concerning anyway

Florida’s rightward turn is certainly disheartening.

What can we say. It’s full of capitalists who place short-term profit over people, who believe investing in seafront property is a good idea in the face of inevitable sea-level rises. It’s a magnet for retirees from around the country with socially and fiscally conservative views. It’s full of Cuban immigrants susceptible to demagoguery about “socialism.” It is, of course, the home of Mar-A-Lago and all the right-wing media hangers-on who have followed the defeated ex-President there. (Sean Hannity literally bought property down the street from Trump.)

Tl;dr, it’s Florida. And as we saw last election, it’s not really essential to the Democratic map.

Georgia and North Carolina are looking better these days.

In a country with a possibly fatal white supremacy problem.

Then why did you say "America's priapism" if you are from America and should have said "Our Country Priapism" so it would indicate you live in America and not make it sound like you live somewhere else

Then why such concern? I did notice that when I said I lived in a country with a possibly fatal white supremacy problem you automatically knew I was talking about the U.S.

Yes, I was saying how what you said sounds like you don't live in the U.S.

That's a jump. What makes you assume I hate capitalism? I have personal property myself. You're sounding increasingly triggered.
0 ups, 3y
Because I have seen some memes you made against Capitalism (quiet a few and a template too)
0 ups, 3y
Then why would you assume that just because I've made fun of capitalism that means I hate it?
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
Of course. Definitely. America!
0 ups, 3y
So where do you live

Maybe a Communist country or Socialist country since you hate Capitalism
