It wasn't that long ago. Why do you think we've forgotten who was in charge?

Antithesis... bro. Come on. A world-wide NOVEL virus isn't Trump or Biden's fault... that shit happens. A novel virus is gonna novel its way through the population until we get a handle on it.

But the economy? Not the lock-down stuff because that's expected (though the length and severity likely played a big part)... the POLICIES the President is enacting NOW. They are weakening America's position on the global market, strangling small business in the US and setting our deficit terrifyingly high. This is on the back of the BEST economy in US history... even CNN said so... it was THAT obvious!

And the pipelines? Not the hacking... that too was likely out of government control. But the POLICIES the President is enacting NOW. Cutting of trade with Canada for fossil fuels (natural gas and petroleum) and stepping hard on the brakes of American oil production. This is on the back of America being virtually energy dependent… and now we're back to trading with Russia and OPEC for oil.

Bro... stop. Please at least look into some of this to understand what's being said. Do a little due diligence. PLEASE?!

Okay, I see the concern with energy independence
The likely reason that that's being enacted is to stop US oil production from harming the environment. By doing that, yes, it's costing us money, but then Russia and OPEC are destroying their own environments for a little money while Congress gets to work on bills for more renewables.

Then we cut off oil purchases when we're ready and they're left with no one to sell their oil to, while we'll be sitting here with turbines, nuclear reactors, and solar panels that'll work no matter the price of fuel.

At least that's the hope.

I'm all for throwing our monopoly money at the world to take all of their natural resources while leaving ours intact. However, if the argument is about environmental harm... that's not really how it works, right? CO2 emissions go into the atmosphere... which is a global problem. That's the whole argument of why we need to more closely regulate our environmental footprint.

If climate control and reducing emissions was really at the top of the "to-do" list, we would remain energy independent, continue exporting the overage to gain more wealth and invest heavily in nuclear power (using renewable sources where it makes the most sense). At the rate we're going, we won't even be able to invest in renewable energy to level we would need for it to be nationally viable... and that doesn't even factor in that renewable energy (solar panels, wind turbines, geothermal turbines, etc.) don't last all that long making the investment we currently make into them marginally beneficial.

The sooner we further develop nuclear energy, the better off we'll be. Energy independence with no need to continue drilling for oil.

I'm talking about the land, as opposed to the air. Drilling and fracking in some areas can have understandably negative consequences for the wildlife around it.

Also, I absolutely agree that nuclear is the way to go!

Ok, let's take a look at the scoreboard again, then?

You... you didn't read anything I wrote did you. Or maybe you just didn't comprehend it?

Either way, continue to disregard what I wrote... think what you're being told to think... you're only hurting yourself in the long run. I'm done.

I'm trying to figure out what the issue here is as well. Are you mistaking me for the OP? Is that the problem? The OP is a different user. You're sticking up for their claim.

Okay... last try... I specifically said that novel virus isn't the fault of anyone. Novel viruses, also known as stuff we've never seen before, are going to do their thing. That's not Trump's fault. That's not Biden's fault. It could be China's fault... or we can just chalk it up to God being a dick. Either way, I'm not supporting the OP's Spanish Flu/COVID argument.

The meat of what I was trying to convey was the rest of it... the economic and energy independence stuff. America is not doing so hot right now in those areas because of the policies that our current President is pushing.

I had originally thought that you were chalking the OP's entire meme up to "Trump was in office for the outset of COVID so it's his fault"... which is incorrect. If I was wrong about that, I apologize. If I was right and you're unaware of the policies that are being enacted and the bills that are trying to get passed, then my last comment stands.

I appreciate your response. I may have jumped to conclusions... people seem to get real defensive when you criticize their in-group.

OK, then argue with the OP - I'm not the one you're trying to argue with, then, if that's what you're saying. It makes no sense to me why I'm the one who has to field your comment.

Look, I don't know what else to tell you - "I call out both sides on their bullshit" just doesn't work when you leap to attack someone on one side when the discussion was about bullshit on the other side in the first place.

We didn’t bring it. Dont blame it on us.
And if I recall, Trump was the one who did almost nothing about it. And the COVID was coming, but Trump didn’t give a shit. Obama did. And so is Biden. If I also recall, the RUSSIANS HACKED the pipeline, you panic bought gas, and blamed it on Biden.

In 2020, Don barely did anything about jobs. Biden got the ball rolling. Inflation has gone down. We have better diplomacy. We have vaccinated people so that people don’t get the virus. The cases are the lowest since March 26th, 2020. And if you are fully vaccinated, you don’t need the masks that are, quote, “Taking away your freedom”. So what Trump didn’t do, you hate. And at least Biden IS bipartisan. Trump, not a chance in hell.
