As a tax payer myself, I'm fine with this and indeed encourage all of you to take advantage of it if it were implemented.

That’s why I worked and paid for mine.

I think it should have been paid for you through our taxes.

I respectfully disagree. I appreciate my education more because I worked for it.

Now appreciate how much more you could have learned if you had spent your time studying more instead of working to pay off your tuition.

My work helped me make through my legal education debt free. I’m going to return again for more.

I think you going back should be covered by our taxes.

People already put a lot of work into getting an education, they shouldn't have to work to access it too.

Not everybody with potential has the opportunity.

It’s not about potential but the willingness to work for what you know is for your benefit without using others as a crutch.

I worked a low end job at a filthy warehouse and made do as I went.

I might have taken your position more seriously if you weren't politicizing the issue.

Regardless, the fact still remains. Later man

Not everyone has that opportunity, people lacking an education are more likely to end up in jobs that don't pay enough for them to get by.

It's hardly surprising that some people turn to crime when the alternative is being trapped in a lifetime of poverty, especially if they have medical bills to pay.

You do understand that there are systems in place that are meant to be used for temporary circumstances such as financial hardship right? Those same systems are to be used temporarily not abused as we see it today. That’s why people aren’t getting by.

There is no such thing as "free education" when it is paid for by taxpayers. Just call what it is and stop with all the nonsense. State sanctioned education, no different than K-12 (and if you're lucky enough to live in a place that has it; pre-K). Your taxes should pay for the things that you need, and that is a much needed thing. Why on earth do we continue to treat the necessities as if they are handouts. Only a fool looks at this as a negative. By all means if you can afford an education, congratulations, get that education. But not being able to afford a school should be the end all to obtaining knowledge. As someone that's been to school, I would hope you at least learned that much.

Public school is one thing...college is another.

It was common up to the 80s, aka. the beginning of the end of the manufacturing in the US, that a person could find a living wage job with just high school education. That era is long over. Now an undergraduate education is just the starting point to a living wage job and in some cases even a "McJob." Due to this shift, the public education system that everyone pays into should include a college education. Ironically it does to a point. The system allows retirees/senior citizens to obtain an education from 2-year colleges without paying a tuition fee in many places. This is a right that should be extended to any tax paying citizen instead of waiting for someone to reach their waning years. I would love to still live in a world where an 18 year old could find a job that would sustain them for the next 30 years. But I would also like to live in a world where a year of tuition w/ room and board was around $600, the average cost of college at a 4 year institute in the 60s (which happens to be the median era most of the individuals in power went to college). Thus their viewpoint is skewed verse todays average of just under $10k for a year of school. Lot easier to tell someone they aren't trying hard enough when your education cost rivals the price of a PS5 today. Just saying.

FedEx helps with tuition reimbursement but only if you work to stay hired.

Besides, that’s why I promote working for what you need. A lot of young people these days want to feel entitled to anything that comes to them as free.
