In a sane post-Jan. 6 world, Pence would be next in line and leading the Republican Party out of this national nightmare.

In our timeline, he returned to Indiana as a homeless couch-surfer staying in undisclosed locations for his own safety due to death threats, and is talked about as a 2024 prospective candidate by exactly no one.

Honestly I think he made the right call...I'd absolutely vote for him if he ran (barring of course a better candidate running), but he's been so vilified by so many on both the right and left his political career is pretty much gone.
