Absolutely. The founders did not believe in standing armies so in the 2nd Amendment when it refers to a militia they are referring to citizens. When they refer to a "well-regulated militia" they mean that the citizen should have equal or superior fire power to their enemies. Outside of the government a regulator is something that equalizes pressure. In Congress the term is completely misused to mean imposing a new law on the people.

I am not opposed to our military especially now that warfare technology is far too advanced for the average citizen to operate. What I am saying is that the military alone are not the defenders of this nation. We The People are the defenders of this nation, from ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic. Technically speaking there should be no limits placed on what type of weaponry and how much a person can own because that is what "well-regulated" means.

It's also just sad...the entire point of a democracy is that the citizenry gives the government its power. The government has no license to make itself, even in name if not already in fact, its own sole security in power.

Now, by that same token the citizenry must respect the ruling of the government up to the point where doing so is absolutely impossible to reconcile with basic human decency and intrinsic rights. We're not nearly there yet and likely won't be for a long time, if ever.

But everyone has a right to legitimate self-defense, and a semi-automatic weapon is second to none in terms of accomplishing that.

Yeah check out what they are teaching kids in schools nowadays. You'll change your mind.

Change my mind about what?

If you're referring to my point about how we're nowhere near the need for a rebellion, then I stand by that. We can fix something as simple as schooling in an entirely legal and logical manner. No need for anything crazy.

Actually we can't because the system where they pick which judge gets assigned to which case always assigns high profile cases the leftist judges. The entire system is corrupt. If you were to fight the stuff they are teaching in school in court, the judge would likely put you in jail.

And he also made the argument that this administration in not a Government "of the people, for the people and by the people". Fortunately for us, such a Government has not permanently "perished from this Earth"
