If someone says that out loud to me, I'm pretty sure we won't be friends.

Because what rights do men not have?

Rights to their child, false allegations leading to a custody that shouldn’t even be administered, and you may see that as something small, but my own father was a victim of false allegations. I could go on.

Men have access to their children. This is a right they have.

Are there men who are denied access to their children due to specific circumstances? Yes. And it involves specific court/legal proceedings. This isn't broadly applied to all men by default.

So...this is a right they already have.

Men are not broadly accused of being a father by women. So, this is not a right. Are some men declared a father by some women in specific circumstances? Yes. Are those men then required to financially support those children in specific court/legal proceedings? And sometimes due to the flawed nature of the process, men who are not the biological fathers end up supporting children.

But those aren't rights. Men currently have the rights to access their children.

However, it sounds like you're advocating for society to change it's views on masculinity and fatherhood. Which, I agree with. As a culture, we need to change how we view men who want to participate in their children's lives.

It needs to change. The current attitude is toxic.

IN fact, this is what we're talking about when liberals talk about toxic masculinity.

How do you know they were false?

Men's suicide rates are higher than women's suicide rates
Men are more likely to get false rape allegations
Men are taken far less seriously when it comes to domestic abuse
Men face more stigma when transitioning

I can safely say there are problems regarding men's rights

Suicide rates are because men refuse to acknowledge their feelings, literally

And many men refuse to because of societal stigma. I've addressed this below

It was very difficult for me to demolish all of the preconceived bias and stigma associated with it.

Exactly. Pretty much all sexism is the result of societal stigma and not the government (Though they do have an indirect effect on it)

I agree that all of these are unfortunate. I agree that all of these should be addressed. I agree that all of these are the result of underlying social issues around the idea of masculinity.

None of these are a right.

From what I've seen, it's fairly simple

Men's problems tend to be a lot more psychological and mental, with their increased suicide rates and higher mental instability
Women's problems tend to be more physical, with higher domestic abuse and rape rates, along with the wage gap. Now, of course, that's not to say there isn't any overlap. Women can still suffer mental abuse, and there have been cases of men being starved by their 'girlfriends', but this is the general pattern

There is nothing blocking men from seeking proper mental healthcare.

There isn't an economic block. Insurance companies aren't refusing to offer mental healthcare coverage to men. There isn't a legislative penalty being applied to clinics that help men with their mental health like having specific physical requirements that are costly to implement or maintain.

So, access to healthcare isn't the problem. Men have that right already.

What it appears you are advocating for is a change in how society and men view mental health and those who seek it out.

Which I wholly and totally agree with. This does need to change.

But it's not a right that men are denied. They have this currently.

But it needs to change. It is toxic.

IN fact, this is what we're talking about when liberals talk about toxic masculinity.

'Advocating for change in society'

Yes. Isn't that the case with gender equality in general?

Men's rights are human rights.

Meaning female humans should have them too.
3 ups, 4y
Okay, yeah, sure, I'm with you on that.

Female humans? I am confused on why you used the term men, but used female humans. Female describes female parts. Men describes a gender. Soooooo, can you explain this to me?

Just saw that mayo.

Missed this one. Sure, there are stereotypes about men too. It stems from the same thing as misogyny, sexist expectations of how people should behave. It should all be dismantled. The whole “but custody rights!” thing is weird though. Divorce court is a complicated place, and it’s not like women don’t also get screwed big in many of the same ways. Family law is messy, messy, messy. Divorcing couples usually disagree wildly about went wrong in their marriage which is kind of why they split up in the first place.
