The only surveillance tapes used in the trial was the policeman leading the protesters, and there one showing the vp leaving. Everything else was either news cameras or phone camera.

Well, yeah, there's a crap load of ccsv cameras at the Capitol. I might be wrong, but I don't recall seeing any video footage from them of before or during the protest. Especially the ones pointed at the front doors.
