Sure....with new technology....but as of today most are ending up in landfills and will stay there for eternity. The blades and stem which are like over 90 % of the windmill are made of fiberglass and are extraordinarily difficult to break down and to recycle. I am sure that at an extraordinary cost they can be broken down and used as part of building materials or roads. Maybe in the future with new technology....(heavily subsidized by the government as most of these new technologies are) but as of today for most....NAW!
And at the end futile because while the West will be committing economic suicide with "green" technologies.....the rest of the world will be using more and more fossil fuels......in larger and larger amounts, continuously being fed and grown by massively growing populations because fossil fuels are very cheap! This charge is being led by China....which by the way made it known that it will be making a 50% cut in the 2020 subsidies budget for new solar capacity and completely remove support for new offshore wind farms because of the financial burden on its budget. These technologies are only working for now because they are being massively subsidized by governments!
China is building the equivalent of one coal plant about every 2 days in China itself....and as of 2020, 350 coal-fired power plants are under construction. They include seven in South Korea, 13 in Japan, 52 in India, and 184 in China with the rest underway in other parts of the world. China is also building and financing hundreds of other coal-fired power plants in countries such as Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Egypt.......blah! Blah! Blah! Noted also is that the West's population is not growing....except for stealing people from the rest of the world to maintain its populations) and it is the rest of the world which populations that are growing massively that will be using more and more fossil fuels. Nothing that the West does will make any impact on carbon emission....because that will be easily surpassed by the rest of the world. My country Guyana just found massive amounts of oil off of its coast and it will pump every drop out of them.....every single drop! And it is hungrily looking for more! Just yesterday they found a new market in India and are exporting its first shipment there! Every other country but the West will be massively exporting their oils and easily making up and vastly surpassing any slack that comes from the West. Shrug....

There are already extent recycling programs but keep up with the cope. Re China and etc their per Capita carbon emissions are lower than those of the US and the US is the largest historical emitter. China is far excessing its own targets for emissions reductions years ahead of schedule while the US is dragging it's feet despite being the worst per Capita emitter in the world. There is also the fact that the US has systematically undercut climate information and policy and waged oil war nonstop since 1953. And China has 1,081 coal plants....and building a new one in China itself every second day....In 3 years it will have over 2000....and it is also building an untold number of other coal plants around the world! Yes! It has been well known for decades that the USA is the greatest user and emitter of fossil fuels and byproducts....especially the US Armed Forces which emits 59 MILLION TONS per year! The Department of Defense spews so much greenhouse gas every year that it would rank as the 55th worst polluter in the world if it were a country, beating out Sweden, Denmark, and Portugal. Take them out from the US emissions and they will not look all of that bad!
Every single developed country is the same....but the US has been the only major country that has consistently lowered its CO2 emission almost every year for the past 3-5 years....while NONE of the countries that had signed the Paris Accord have lowered their CO2 emission but have rather increased them!
China, India, Russia, and other countries do not have to stop using fossil fuels.....and all have bluntly stated that they will NOT stop using fossil fuels. They view it as a plot by Westerners to stop their developments....because fossil fuels are by far the cheapest fuel there is....especially if your country produces it!
While the US population is not really growing, the rest of the non-Western World is burgeoning with new births....these exploding populations will massively ramp up the use of fossil fuels!
No matter what the USA does....even if it gets rid of all of its CO2 emissions.....the rest of the world will NOT! And they will easily surpass whatever the USA (and the West) reduces or eliminates, in just a few years.

Various data shows varying numbers built per year....184 is the lowest number that I can find...many say that China actually builds 1 coal plant a day. China is a very opaque economy and it is hard to get straight data....such data are a national security item for them...as are all communist entities!

And while everyone has been led to believe they are ‘Green Energy’, the construction of each unit requires the expenditure of a lot of fossil fuel, not to mention the amount required to erect and maintain each unit, or the amount used in the transmission lines that get the power from the unit to the consumer.

And fossil fuels have to be more than the windmill because they are largely sitting like "hugly" giant eyesore white skeletons....idle! These windmills are the backup energy rather than fossil fuel!

Or how about the fact that Solar Panels are far less efficient when it’s hot than when it’s cold.

So they work best in areas that receive less sunlight.

Oh, the irony of green energy is palpable.

High altitudes means even more fossil fuels used for maintenance and installation, defeating the purpose of said units.

Polar areas automatically receive less hours of sunlight per day during the times of year when they would be needed the most.

Which one would you rather have during the winter months: Reliable fossil fuels providing your heat and electricity, or semi-reliable green energy that still uses hundreds of tons of fossil fuels to create and maintain?

I am not a proponent of wind technologies, or solar for that matter...I have been saying electric vehicles push the problem down the line since they introduced them. I have posted on here numerous times my disdain for the wreck the battery mines do, amd the amount of gas it takes to mine the materials.
