I have a gut feeling that SD governor Kristi Noem will run. I live in SD. She's such a crony for Trump, she's gonna ditch the state for a national republican seat, if not president. In fact, her love for the national GOP is causing conflict with the state GOP, because she's focused on political gains, and not the issues within her state!

the GOP has put themselves in a position where they have to go with Trump or a Trump clone, i guess. any qualified candidate would have little success fighting that momentum. it's bad, of course, in the sense that the country won't have any kind of real choice in 2024, but good in that we might expect an outcome similar to 2020.

The GOP is literally at a breaking point, between Trumpies and anti-Trumpies. Try to fight against Trump, it looks like the GOP is turning against you, but fight for Trump, the other side of the GOP, and the whole country will turn against you. It's a losing battle they try to fight.

The reason I say that they are LITERALLY at a breaking point, is because rumors are flying about the party breaking up to two. The republicans who are Pro-Trump, and the republicans who are Anti-Trump.

Nah, they (anti trumpers) will eventually fold and (even if passively) fall in line to the Trumpers. They only care about their personal power and money. Not results.

maybe Desantis with a better chance than Gaetz, but i agree that a Trump-like candidate would have a lot of momentum.
