However, it’s important to note I don’t advocate going to war with China, as much as I disapprove their current political trajectory.
China would have to do something really drastic, like invading Taiwan, for war to even be considered. Unlike confronting Germany in WWII, now the world’s major powers (China included) have nuclear weapons and can destroy all life on earth with the push of a button. A more limited conventional war is possible, but it’s never been done between two nuclear-armed states before, for good reason. The potential for miscalculation or rash escalation is too great.
We must think deeply about this problem and make sure we use every tool in the kit before we resort to that.
