Liberal conspiracy: I think the Russians had chatbots in 2016 on Twitter. Oh, that was proven. I think the fbi was involved a coup in the 70s. Oh, that was proven.

Truthfulness and accuracy are agendas, and good ones.

True. agenda is often beside the point. If I'm more critical of something I don't like and find problems, the problems remain.

That's true, except for when it is. It usually isn't though thankfully. When I see those, I don't even attempt to argue.

A conspiracy theory is an explanation for an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy by sinister and powerful groups, often political in motivation, when other explanations are more probable.

That probable part is key. Something can seem improbable if your assumptions are wrong.

It's unfortunate but a lot of right wing stuff at this point is conspiracy theory. In my more paranoid moments it feels like part of a strategy. If you only imply things, and don't make direct accusations you can't be refuted.

Of course, it's a part of a strategy: keep the left hand distracted from what the right hand is doing.

I don't mean like that. I mean vague accusations - you can't disprove something that isn't clearly stated. If accused of killing someone I could look at the time of death and establish an alibi. If you just accuse me of being a murderer with no specifics I can't refute that.

Also, with climate change they don't correct the record. They create so many alternate theories that it looks like there is a ton of argument among climatologists. Anyone who tries to give all of those theories equal time is going to just get frustrated and give up.

Not a strategy to distract the left but a strategy to keep their own people in the dark.

Fair enough.
