the only fossil fuel that burns clean is molecular hydrogen, and that technology is already as clean as it can get since the only product liberated is and has always been water. all other fossil fuels liberate carbon dioxide.

And how much carbon dioxide is liberated in the process of manufacturing EV batteries? That’s in addition to all the toxins they leave behind. The batteries aren’t all being charged by “green” energy sources. A lot of fossil fuel is used to manufacture, distribute, install, maintain and dispose of EV batteries.

well as i said, technology evolves. you can hardly expect it to be optimized right now just because you want it to be. and no, the batteries aren't all being charged by green sources, but they will be.

Technology evolves with fossil fuels too. It’s just as likely that technology will evolve enough for CO2 reductions in fossil fuels to advance as much as efficiency and cleanliness of other forms of energy storage for EVs. But right now, there is so much more energy sorted in fossil fuels than the best battery, it’s unlikely they will be replaced as a fuel for vehicles anytime soon. And, even when/if they are, we’ll just be switching from one type of pollution to another.

your analysis is predicated on your conclusion. normally we do things the other way round.

No, my analysis is based on fact. You’re the one who thinks tech advancements will achieve actual clean energy for EVs but won’t for conventional vehicles.

your analysis ignores chemistry. fossil fuels work because they convert high-energy molecules to very stable products (water and CO2) plus energy. that conversion is already extremely efficient. the problem is what to do with the CO2. there's nothing more stable to convert it to that's less problematic, and if you want to store it, well that costs energy. plants store it only by using green energy to convert it to sugars. fossil fuels are at a dead end.

They will only develop and release tech that enslaves people. There are plenty of alternative options that work, like running cars off cut grass, garbage, and straight up water. The electric thing is convenient for elites because it enslaves us even more to a grid that they can control.

grass and garbage give off CO2. to use water as fuel requires a nuclear reaction. we've had nuclear for 75 years and still don't know how to manage it, so it's not my fuel of choice.

if it's any consolation, we'll eventually fuel up at home, independent of a grid. if you're under 45, you'll probably see it in your lifetime.
