Well, I'm still 16, but i'll be voting age by the time the 2022 midterms come around, so I don't see why I shouldn't participate. On top of that, I have a real interest in politics and have formed legitimate opinions based on research I've done instead of just parroting what I've been told.

Ok.. lets start with the confederate flag and monuments.

I believe that for the most part, monuments should be left up, but there will always be outliers. I believe that the owner of the land should decide in the end, but I do agree with the argument that statues that would praise confederate generals are bad, and that the freed slaves and people who fought for their rights should be praised.

As for the flag, it seems to have different meanings to each side. Some people take it to represent their heritage and family history, but i would never fly it because i believe that it is mostly about fighting to keep people enslaved

I don't believe it could work. Without a real incentive to work, few people will. Somebody has to grow that food, make those houses, and provide that education, but why do that when the government will pay you to stay home and do nothing. as great as it would be if all those things could be provided for free, they realistically can't. I believe everyone should be fed and housed, but I don't believe that UBI could accomplish it.

No, they shouldn't. The problem is, I believe UBI would make more people go hungry.

Social security does do some good. It's not UBI, though. You or a family member has to have put in a certain amount of work to get anything out of it.

People who buy things are productive, customers create jobs for those who like working, and believe it or not most people like working. As long as people spend money (no matter how they got it) they are creating jobs and a working economy.

I think younger users are better at making memes than older users because in this stream I usually see more essays than memes.

I don’t envy the kids growing up in this political climate. I hope they are here and elsewhere, looking at the news, making memes, getting and giving feedback. Not doing that gets us to where we are now.

Ok. That’s your opinion, I guess. The point of my post is that kids, by discussing these things and taking an interest in it, are going to be better equipped to deal with lies they will inevitably find on the internet from “trumpettes” or anyone else.
