Religion doesn't make you hate, it just tells you what the sins are. Knowing sins isn't hate. People are afraid of the word "sin" but that is what keeps you out of heaven. I'd prefer everybody get to go to heaven. That's love. I also want my children to get there. Because I love them. To answer your question.... I'm afraid it is a very big sin. Leviticus 18 and 20 is clear on that, but it is not a sin that is above all other sins. That means that it is a sin that can be forgiven (except unbelief).

However, any sin that can be committed cannot be compensated by good deeds (Isaiah 64:6). It is like going to a judge, saying,

"Your Honor, I know that I have passed the red light and ran over a child in the process killing her, but I have done a lot of good in my life. I have fed the poor, mend the sick, and gave blood."

Will a good judge overlook that crime, but must punish the offender according to the law. If s/he does not do that, s/he will be an unjust judge who have failed to do his/her job.

In this case, we've all broken the commandments of God, and so God being just and holy cannot allow what He considers evil to go unpunished (Exodus 34:6-7 & Psalms 5:4-5).

So to be forgiven, the Bible says that while He does hate sinners (I know... that sounds terrible), He also loved them that He sent Jesus Christ. Jesus came down to bore our sins. He took our sins to the cross, died on it, and on the third day rose again from the dead (Isaiah 53:1-6, 10). If we repent of our sins and believe in Jesus we will be saved (John 3:16-17).

I understand that, Killing people surely can't be forgiven so easily, Like most sins,

However, Homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone, While killing takes life and deserves a rightful punishment, Homosexuality barely makes it a sin, And as God expects everything (Being All-Knowing), Even God wouldn't be mad at that, So, It's practically as minor as jaywalking
