"I would like to see America make a new law where representatives are elected solely on their information and their platform. Americans would have to read up on what they are voting for - not who."
cool, that'll never happen. You need to accept that US democracy has failed utterly.
You clearly misunderstand the nature of duopoly.
Personally I'd like to be in a country where 600K of my countrymen hadn't been casually murdered by neglect, without homelessness, and where medical care won't bankrupt me. Ppl in China and Cuba are pretty much back to normal and shit it hitting the fan nonstop in the US. It's a failed state. We are an authoritarian police state where the cops murder ppl nonstop, real wages have been stagnant for a half century, and everything a sane govt provides has been privatized and comes with a mountain of debt. Water debt, school lunch debt, student loan debt, medical debt, court cost and ticket/fine/fee debt, private prisons, etc. You have a serious case of hegemonic common sense (full internalization of the ideology of worshiping a system which tramples its citizens and doesn't give 1/4 of a damn about you). It doesn't have to be this way. Why are you worshiping the destruction of yourself and your countrymen?
