I have seen clearly in my lifetime examples of socialism that always, I repeat, always ends in totalitarian regimes. Israel, the UK and India all went socialist nationalizing their industries and found that it didn’t work. It’s failure in every other country that tried it is evidence it is crap. The Soviet Union and China had to incorporate precepts of capitalism to survive. You are the one who doesn’t know the meaning lefty.

And you won't find Socialism in the US, or in the UK or other Western countries (all of which have universal healthcare, almost always working fantastically).

Universal healthcare is great n countries with a population smaller than California like Australia and Canada. Scale that up 10 times and it’s not so efficient. It’s not perfect but it’s not the 90’s either. All states have indigent medical care programs. One of the problems in California is there are so many uninsured immigrants in the healthcare system who don’t pay anything but require surgery and care.

Australia is not a good model for American health care. While public hospitals do provide almost-entirely-free treatment, this needs to be weighed against the quality of life disadvantages that come with socialized treatment.
