Want to maintain Anglo ties? Go to Canada. Queen Elizabeth's effigy on their money is a super solid anchor, about the only thing that differentiates them from being little more than the 51st State, but with a higher standard of living and better services for our tax dollar. Think USA + Norway.

The children of immigrants always learn English, and the English language - or rather, American, if you will - continues to spread throughout the world as it has especially since post-WWII. The world is steadily being Americanized. Doubtful we're somehow going to rekindle our roots with Spanish colonialism which at one time or another occupied territory far more extensive than the British did in what is now the USA.
