You cannot get any clearer than that. It makes you wonder how we have let the left get away with passing law after law after law after law..... modifying everything in the Constitution and in many cases passing laws that say the exact opposite of what the Constitution said and what the founders meant by what they said.

Like how the left changed "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof" to "separation of church and state". When Thomas Jefferson wrote "there must be a wall of separation of church and state" in a private letter and not a legal document he meant that the government has no business getting involved in religious matters. However, that same wall never barred religion from getting involved in government matters. In fact it used to be encouraged. Jefferson organized church services in the halls of Congress for congressmen who could not make it home in time for their own church services. Jefferson took excerpts of Jesus's moral teachings in the New Testament and published a book containing those excerpts and require all Congressmen to read that book and live by it. George Washington required that Bible teachings be a part of public education.

The left has so bastardized everything our founders meant for their own agenda that now a kid can get expelled if they just show up to school with a Bible.

The more the left does that the less free we are.

Perry Mason | States don't have the authority to ban federal laws. Federal supremacy is established in Article VI of the U.S. Constitution. | image tagged in perry mason | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Are you familiar with the 10 amendment? And how on earth did you ever interpret anything in the Constitution to establish federal supremacy? Are you talking about the US Constitution?

I can tell right now that if the founders even thought that we would have a country. The states were adamant about their autonomy. They considered each state almost as their own nation. And they pretty much were under the Articles of Confederation.

The big federal power grab happened with the 13th and 14th amendments when the slaves were freed. If the federal had the power that you claim, slavery would have been abolished almost immediately after the founding. Abolishment certainly had the majority vote. Even from slave owners George Washington and Thomas Jefferson who both fought the Virginia state legislature to either end slavery in the state or at least repeal the law that prevented slave owners from freeing their slaves. They were never successful with the state legislature. Washington was able to free his slaves when he died but Virginia closed that loophole before Jefferson died.

The Judicial branch has the authority to declare laws unconstitutional and null and void.

States have the right to not enforce laws they deem unconstitutional.

Perry Mason | You are correct about the first thing, but not the second. Federal supremacy is in the Constitution. States may challenge federal laws in co | image tagged in perry mason | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

You have it backwards, DFire.

It's the Federal authorities that are violating the safeguards of Federally recognized rights.

The staties are just insisting they be upheld instead of violated.

Correctly.

Two words:

Prosecutorial discretion

Since the 2nd Amendment is the supreme law of the land and it says The right of the people shall not be infringed, all Federal gun control laws are unconstitutional.

In legal documents the word "shall" allows for NO wiggle room.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of of a free State,

This is what the founders said:

The power of the sword, say the minority..., is in the hands of Congress. My friends and countrymen, it is not so, for the powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry of America from sixteen to sixty. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress has no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every terrible implement of the soldier are the birthright of Americans.

The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments but where, I trust in God, it will always remain, in the hands of the people.

Whereas civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms.

The militia, who are in fact the effective part of the people at large, will render many troops quite unnecessary. They will form a powerful check upon the regular troops, and will generally be sufficient to over-awe them.

Tench Coxe

This is what Federal law says.

10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes

(a)The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b)The classes of the militia are—

(1)the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2)the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

Well sort of. The 13th and 14th amendments did severely weaken the 10th but it didn't kill it altogether.

It is just a shame that the Constitution no longer trumps the Democrat party.

That would be relevant if it were the states violating the Federally guaranteed rights.

In this case it's actually the reverse. The states are demanding that constitutional law be upheld.

From a Law Professor,

"States are not entitled to nullify Federal Law"

"Any Law that interferes with a Valid Federal Law is Unconstitutional in itself. The Federal Law is Supreme over State Law."

"Nullification is no more valid today than it was during the 1950s during desegregation or during the pre-Civil War era"

"The main issue there is the Supremacy clause" The part of the constitution that says Federal Law supwecedes State Law

So if anybody doesn't like it, they can just do a Quick repeat of Texas Secession. See how long that lasts.

The State can refuse to comply with a Federal Law or Order alright. But when it's time to pay the piper, The Fed can make the state suffer any number of ways. Say for example they decide to withhold federal money to that state. Squeeze them until they cry uncle.
