The feeling I get from a lot of these compassion appeals is “Conform or you’re the asshole.” It’s a “thoughtform” that is the same as BLM’s “Silence = Violence” garbage. Basically, if you don’t outrage when everyone else does and conform to what they do, you’re devoid of compassion and/or a white supremacist.
All these arguments do is allow the more “compassionate/woke” to use perceived superior morality as a gag with which to silence anyone who might have a different opinion. Who needs to second guess themselves when they’re on the side of “compassion”? Cult programming for sure. It’s sad to see you all stuck in it. If you do your research, you would understand why it’s good to be CAUTIOUS of these narratives, as they have successfully been deployed to control populations around the globe through self policing. Not dismiss it out of hand, but your guard should be up and you should for sure not run around assuming people you don’t know are inconsiderate because they don’t do what the TV tells them.
At the end of the day, certain people prioritize safety over freedom or vice versa. That’s why explaining why it’s “safer” or “more free” to people who’s priorities are fundamentally different is an exercise in futility. You have to agree that your priorities are different , and then work to find common ground. Seems pretty sensible, right?
