If someone’s beliefs interfere with another’s beliefs in a discriminatory way, then they shouldn’t be expected to be rewarded for those beliefs, if anything, they should expect the opposite.

Thanks, tell that to Zuckerberg and Dorsey.

I really hate that comic. First off, it stereotypically portrays gay men in how their drawn, says that refusing service to someone because of their sexual orientation is okay (it’s not). If I was the cashier, I would have refused that cake simply because I don’t want to make an innuendo cake. And anyways, it downplays the kind of stuff that gay people have to go through on a daily basis. There. I said it.

Yeah, and what happened to the Christian baker that tried to refuse a publicity seeking queer? He got sued. Yet monopolies like twitter and fb ban people and refuse people their service and that's okay? Notice I said monopolies. That gay guy could have got his cake elsewhere.

You hate it because it rubs the double standard in your face.
0 ups, 3y
If you refuse someone service because of their sexual orientation than you deserve to be banned in Twitter.

False; this isn’t just a “conservative” issue. This is more so a religious argument. The only thing a conservative and/or religious persons wants is the RIGHT to oppose your decision to be gay or transgender. Which they (we) do. Under the First Amendment, an individual has protected religious rights to - let’s say - not bake you a gay cake.

But instead of saying “Okay, I’ll go somewhere else. Thank you.” gays blow a f**king big deal over it and scream things like “bigot” or “homophobia”. I’m other words, gays and transgenders (the whole LGBTQ - actually) do not want to be “equal” - they want to feel superior to heterosexuals and those seeking a traditional nuclear family.

So take your uneducated “cancel culture” meme elsewhere.
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
That said refusing to serve someone is not cancellation- it is discriminatory.
And just because you dont agree with someone's way of life is not to say that you hate that individual or their choices.

A baker not wanting to make a "gay cake" for religious reasons is not the same as a group of small minded individuals igniting a large scale tirade against a person product or business because they saw a 5 yo post on the internet that could be talken "the wrong way"
0 ups, 3y
You have the right to deny someone service based on your beliefs - that isn’t discrimination, that is the first amendment. And it’s your business.. so.

I’ll respond to all three paragraphs separately.
Paragraph 1: the right to oppose someone’s decision does seem like cancelling gay and trans people. I’m just saying, it doesn’t seem much of a difference. I understand that there’s a religious side of things, but you must admit conservatives are far more likely to be religious or anti-gay and anti-trans than liberals.
Paragraph 2: I think you’re making a big assumption here that gay and trans people who want to be accepted are actually trying to be superior. In other words, you believe that the ultimate goal of them is to turn the argument on its head and become anti-heterosexual. I don’t think that is true. And besides, if you say very bluntly that you are against gay and trans they have the right to say your are homophobic or transphobic.
Paragraph 3: since you’ve just completely proved this meme’s point, I think you’re the one who should go elsewhere. 😏

You’re not wrong, I’ve found most liberals / leftists are Godless - so yes, most conservatives hold religion closer. It’s because they both go hand-in-hand at times.

Being against gay and transgender from a religious belief standpoint is not the same as “hate” or discriminatory. And sure, they have the same right to call someone a “homophobic” or “transphobic” as a conservative has to call them out as a “bigot” or far worse - you should know what I mean by that without me needed to type it. That’s the magic of the first amendment and what makes this country so great.

I have nothing against gay / transgender so I can stay right here. If you want to live that lifestyle- go do it. Just don’t rope in those that don’t want it thrown in their face because they choose to not accept it. Also, keep it out of schools and teach it to your own kids. Leave our kids out of it.
0 ups, 3y,

I disagree with you that it should be kept out of schools. It's important for kids to learn that it is normal.
1 up, 3y,

4% and less than 1% isn't normal. Heterosexuality is normal. If everyone was gay, we'd die out in a generation.
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
If everyone was gay-
Then reproduction would still be a thing, just people would feel sexual doing it. If everyone was gay and infertile, it would be the same as if everyone was straight and infertile.
But animals are naturally LGBTQ sometimes too, there are certain advantages in the animal world: then instead of focusing on making babies, you take care of abandoned animal babies.
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
Okay. Doesn't make it normal.
0 ups, 3y
What even is normal?
1 up, 3y,
1 reply
Normal from who’s perspective? Normal is a subjective argument- that isn’t normal to me.
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
It’s normal for other people- when you hide it you are increasing the amount of pain put on people who are LGBTQ+
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
And that’s who’s problem, exactly? That doesn’t give anyone the right to indoctrinate kids into that lifestyle. How would you feel if they came out and said the would teach all children that being gay or transgender was not okay. It’s basically the same thing.

They just need to leave that shit at the door and it should be the parents responsibility to teach that to their children- if they so choose to do so.
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
It’s not the same thing.
I could say that banning people from teaching about heterosexual people in school is okay.
I wouldn’t, but by your logic, I could.
0 ups, 3y,

So do it? Parents can teach their own children about sex. Don’t need some strange ass adult doing it on their behalf.

First, he said the meme was uneducated. As I proved, he contradicted himself multiple times. He literally said he was not in favour of gay and trans rights and that gay and trans people should be okay with that, and not say he’s homophobic or transphobic. Isn’t that what homophobic and transphobic are? Secondly, the right to oppose someone’s decision can quickly turn into an intolerable situation. A segregated community where people specifically refuse service to gay and trans people, refuse to hire them, and are mad when they cry foul.

Special rights? If anything, these people who believe that being gay is immoral have special rights. As such, they refuse service simply because they don’t believe gay people should be allowed to have rights! Stupid conservative, can’t see that you’re party is white-straight-Christian supremist!

Then what do Conservatives want?

By definition they stand for stamping out anything that strays from an accepted antiquated norm/status quo. Not exclusion, but eradication.

Conservatism IS cancel culture.

Just because you disprove of something doesn’t make it cancel culture. What makes it cancel culture is going on social media and calling a mob to ruin a person’s life. Make him lose his job. Put him out of business. All because he said or posted something.

It’s not just because you disagree with something or you don’t want it in your life.

Disagreeing with people is literally an aspect of free speech. You do not know this?
0 ups, 3y,

Didn’t conservatives do that to the guy who drove up to chick a fila and asked the cashier how they could support a business with a homophobic leader
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
This is such a confusing argument.
First there’s the leader who is “homophobic” which by your logic is LITERALLY cancel culture.
Then there’s the guy who’s anti-homophobic asking why there’s a homophobic leader at a restaurant instead of ordering food like any rational composure with a brain would do in a drive-thru.
Then there’s the cashier just doing wanting to do his job... which is to sell chicken sandwiches to people driving by.
Then there are people who disapprove of the people trying to “put Chic-fil-A” into a more progressive stance by making the leader less homophobic

And out of all of them, you’re calling the people condemning those who are actually trying to cancel the leader of chic-fil-a the ones who are in league with cancel culture.

Are you kidding me right now?

And not only that, but you’re lobbing in EVERY single conservative in with it.

My gosh, I’ve never seen a more complex argument that I’m sure even you can’t piece together. And I can’t because it makes no gosh-dang sense!
0 ups, 3y,

No I’m condemning people who forced the guy who drove up to chick a fil A’s boss to fire him.

Let me show you a portion of an article talking about this.

In Tucson, Arizona, Adam Smith decided to order a free cup of water himself. Smith, a successful young business executive, had recently witnessed the struggle his brother-in-law experienced coming out. He felt righteous joining in on the protest, and he decided to film the whole exchange and post it to YouTube. In the video, Smith is seen telling the drive-thru attendant, "I don't know how you live with yourself and work here. I don't understand it. This is a horrible corporation with horrible values."

"It was my first protest. I thought it was benign. I thought it was really safe to put it on video as opposed to going out into protesting and getting into big crowds," Smith told CBSN Originals. "Certainly, I didn't think about any consequences that it might have."

After uploading the video to YouTube, it went viral overnight. His employer received bomb and death threats and fired Smith for posting it. Smith was "canceled" before that terminology existed.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cancel-culture-changed-lives-forever-cbsn-originals/

He didn’t think about ANY consequences? He thought it was a protest?
Dude! It’s a fricking drive-thru! That’s not the place to go and protest. It makes perfect sense why he would suffer for protesting in a drive-thru, and not only that, but putting it on YOUTUBE.

And yes, it’s bad that his employer received death threats from people. That sucks. But seriously. I almost guarantee you that his employer would have fired him anyway. If you look more into the article, it shows he got fired from a different job BECAUSE of that video. That other employer got no death threats. He wasn’t forced to fire him. He just did.

So, I know why he got fired. It’s because he did something that was blatantly stupid!
