A savannah is a jungle. A jungle is an untamed wilderness expanse. Jungles weren't considered to be the rain forest representation until Explorers explored the thick tree jungles we know today.

Well actually...... lions live in many different habitats, they are located around many different parts of the world, such as Europe, Asia, and Africa. They also live in many different habitats such as savanna, grasslands, dense scrub, open woodland. and now they live mainly in Africa.... because humans killed the rest of them, and ate them... actually I don't think they ate them, but some of them were made into fur coats and what have you. Also global warming contributed. in conclusion, I really need to get some friends, and also lions don't only live in savanna, also lions do live in the savanna, they live in the jungle sometimes.

Lions have famously acquired the title of 'King of the Jungle'. However, the title is a little misleading as lions don't actually live in jungles (and as we found out earlier, they don't have kings!). Their habits include scrubland, grasslands, savannahs and rocky hills, but not jungles.

Savannas, or savannahs, are usually grasslands, drier, and their trees are shorter and more sparse.

The term JUNGLE was coined before Rain Forest jungles were discovered by modern powers that be. They were basically savannahs, Savannah were called jungles. Liona existed before people documented Rain Forest Jungles. They were given the term King of the Jungle - or King of the Savannah. Jungle was a slang term for Savannah.

I was referring to today's terms, not the past. They may live in "jungles" in the past, but it's the past. Today, it's Savannah. The term just changed.

Right. I'm telling you why Lions are called the King of the Jungle. Its because jungke was a slang term, defining unmanned expanses... Or "the wild" as it may be. Jungle was a synonymous term for a savannah.
