Yea because you cant have a Docrorate Degree In Information Technology, or Education, and be considered a Doctor. When have you ever met someone with a Dr degree that DIDNT INSIST ON BEING CALLED DOCTOR? Have you ever spoken with someone who was a doctor, and not a medical doctor?

I've known and worked with plenty of people with PhDs who did not go by doctor. Most I only found out about because while they weren't in your face with the info, they weren't trying to hide it either. Others were definitely trying to hide it. The ones who were in your face with it.. well, I find them annoying. They're more concerned with telling you how smart they are, than showing you.

My best example of pretention in this regard is my high school calculus instructor. He insisted that we call him Dr. blahblah (whatever his name was...) we called him Mr. Dr. blah blah. That pretentious douchebag is the one who probably got me going about not liking people who insisted on the importance of their title. The "doctors" I know who didn't do that, have all been much better at their jobs, much smart, and imo, much nicer people than those who insist on pushing their title on you.

I like calling dr.. mr. just to piss them off....I have even been reported to my supervisor for nOt addressing some customers as Dr, and he laughed at the complaint, because we all know....
