It's just that I don't see how someone can only like one gender, like how someone might not see how people can like more than one gender.

Well, for starters, love has mostly been that way for as long as history; male and female. Plus, it's stated in the Bible that a man shall wed a woman and someone shouldn't change who they are because God made you who are the way you are for a reason(I'm a Christian boi). Plus, same-gender love would be considered friends or best-friends, right?

At first, When humans were first created, Their first instinct was to reproduce, That's why some people thought it was just Man and Woman, But after a while, It changed, Free will started to change.

Also, I'm pretty sure friends or best friends don't have sex

What I meant with best friends, was that instead of having sexual attraction to the same gender, that's what friends are for. No sexual attraction, just an opposite gender person you like to hang out with. Doesn't make sense now that I say it out loud

It really doesn't
Cause that's how Asexuals get along, They don't have sex, But they love each other more than anything

Throughout history, and in the animal kingdom, there are examples of same-sex love and partnership. The Bible is full of interesting stuff and deep thought, but it's still the product of a particular time and place (the society it came from was pretty intensely homophobic, UNLIKE many of the other mediterranean societies of its time). I'm Jewish, and allowing for the historical context of the Bible is something we have to grapple with and read thoughtfully.

And love is big, and complex. You can be best friends and lovers, without being confused about the emotions.

No, we didn't 'somehow' choose anything. God gave us the free-will to choose from the very beginning, hence why Adam and Eve were able to eat the Forbidden Fruit and bring sin into the world in the first place. My p.o.v of lgbtq is rather grey if I'm being honest. Sometimes, when I discuss lgbtq I feel like I know what's being said but 15 minutes later I'll just be proven wrong or be given a different idea so honestly, the whole thing confuses me which is why I never really bothered to question if I should become a part of it. When it comes to supporting it, I'm technically not supporting it; I'm not discriminatory of it either, I'm just unbiased.

Okay. Glad to know that you don't discriminate against lgbtq+. I get where you're coming from, as a lot of churches think that people get to choose to be lgbtq+. The reality is that no one can choose what their sexuality is. I'm not mad, just disappointed in the people that taught you that. For example, if you are a straight male, then you know you didn't choose to like females when you woke up one morning. You just naturally did like females. It's the same thing with the lgbtq+ community. Some of us like the same gender, all genders, no genders, etc.

And that's the thing, I didn't get taught anything much about lgbtq in church or from my parents. It's only been friends and lgbtq supporting groups so really, I think it's just me still filling in the gaps. Like, I'm still learning about racial issues and granted, my parents are teaching me what they can and still keeping me protected from the harsh realities that I already know but I usually go to several different locations(virtual and in-person) to learn more about black culture and history and same with different religions though it's not that easy.

Okay. Well, just know that, as long as you don't discriminate against us, that you will always be our friend.

To put it simple,
Your sexuality doesn't have some sort of "Default", like straight or homo, It just, Happens, You don't really get to pick, You may feel straight or something, But when you try other thing, You find out that you are much more comfortable that way, That's pretty much how people "Question themselves"
0 ups, 3y
we don't have an issue with straight people, but homosexuality is a natural thing and they shouldn't force themselves to be straight or anything
(might be wrong, as i'm straight/questioning)

Depends on the person itself I suppose.

Me myself, Personally never cared about genders, Thus, I became Pan

well, I think we just realize we have more attraction to one gender rather than another, or we realize that we like two genders, or all genders. we just simply feel the same attraction to the same gender we are just as straight people feel attraction to the opposite gender, and that's basically all there is to it.

Valid point. I was just curious as to why, because if I'm being honest, love is very complex which is obvious but sometimes, it's too complex where I just can't comprehend how someone can like someone of their own gender or change their own sexuality. I'm a Biblical person, and I believe God made us the way we are for a reason, and the fact people change their whole sexuality is somewhat questioning to me. Not that I'll actually discriminate against someone for it, but it bewilders me sometimes.

well, I personally am an atheist so I can't really speak for religious people. But, if God is real and he controls our fate then I think perhaps He made us the way he made us so that we could face the chalenges, get stronger in life, and figure out who we truly are. yes, there is biological gender but some people feel that they aren't what they're born as and they are really something else. I'll use my personal experience as an example. I was born as a girl, but I never fit in with the people who were girls, and I don't think girls could always handle me. I felt a little better sometimes hanging out with boys so I thought that might be who I am but I never felt right like that either. then, I realized gender is meaningless to me. I felt like a little bit of both. when I realized that I became happier and embraced who I truly was. as for the "changing sexuality" I don't think people really change their sexuality. I think they are born with it but they have to discover who they are because in this society "straight" seems like the default. in the bible, the first humans may have been a straight couple but that was because there were not much humans at the time. now we kinda need some population control lol. I think you should talk to my friend BunBun96. he's christian but he's also LGBTQ, and I think you two could have a nice conversation about this. Also I really do appreciate you trying to take the time to see how we think and not judge and harass us. we need more people like you.

Huh, that's interesting. Normally, when I meet people who don't identify as their naturally-born gender or identity, they've normally gone through some sort of surgical or intense mental treatment or change to literally change their body so I never thought of just mentally changing your identity. I'm somewhat oblivious to this kind of stuff haha- and thank you. Just about all of my friends are non-discriminants to people whether it'd be gender, race, or religion and all that (my friend group is a big mix of races and such as well) so as much as I am oblivious to this kind of stuff, I'm not one to judge someone or discriminate them for it. And BunBun69, I'll look into their profile and maybe see if I can find a way to chat with 'em.
