That is kinda the paradox though, is it still tolerance if you allow intolerance to flourish, or is it intolerance to try and stop intolerance?
I think Jim Sterling said it best when he said, "Being thick skinned doesn't mean you're skin is unbreakable. Eventually, no mater how thick your skin maybe, you reach a breaking point and lash out." Same can be said for tolerance, part of the point is to try and get others to reciprocate by example, but for that to work the other side has to want to change for the better as well and eventually you reach the point where you have to just acknowledge that they won't/refuse to. In which case all bets are off.
