Fox News Mansplaining 101: | Figured I'll help Fox News develop a spin ... THE NO-WATER, POWER, FREEZING, AND
BURST-PIPES DEBACLE IN TEXAS IS THE
FAULT OF THE RADICAL LEFT !!!

NO DEMOCRAT HAS WON ANY STATEWIDE
OFFICE IN TEXAS SINCE 1994, AND THE
GOP HAS CONTROLLED THE LEGISLATURE.

If the RADICAL LEFT had held important
posts THEY WOULD HAVE PUT MEASURES
IN PLACE TO PREVENT THESE PROBLEMS.

But the RADICAL LEFT DIDN'T hold important
posts, so they DIDN'T put measures in place.

Following the legal mandates of a liberal agenda pushed by democrats set at the federal level against the will of the state, which you contently left out.

Your only defense is to assume democrats would have done different when in charge of Texas directly which is a fallacy called Hypothesis contrary To Fact and thus an argument.

Bottom line is, someone should have bin prepared and winterized that shit, ready for any such unforseen circumstances. Pray for sun, plan for rain as it were.

Yes, they should have had a plan for a once in a lifetime storm and those in charge should have to have a heavy price for this failure. However, the lack of foresight for this rare level of weather doesn't make you point in any form.

And why did no Dems call out this lack of preparation?, after all it was mandated by the federal government that they do things that made the power grid vulnerable to this weather.

Nuh unh, Texas is in control of their own power grid, seperate from the federal govt, which allowed them to deregulate and cut costs and failed to recognize the potential for a "once in a lifetime" event.

The wind power was to comply with federal regulations, they could have fired up plants to make more energy, but didn't get permission to do so until AFTER the weather turned stupide cold https://www.energy.gov/sites/prod/files/2021/02/f82/DOE%20202%28c%29%20Emergency%20Order%20-%20ERCOT%2002.14.2021.pdf . If it wasn't for the regs they would not have this problem. Cutting Texas off from most of the countries power grid is also one of the many causes of the problem.

Hmmmm, changing weather, massive "once in a lifetime" events occuring more frequently all over the world. Wierd huh?

There's no way that would happen. People born in Texas or from the South don't want taxes, want extremely low rates for electricity, etc., and don't want government regulation.

As the chairman of ERCOT, the Electrical Reliability Council of Texas said publicly, "If a meteor hit, someone would be complaining that there should have been protection against meteors."

The bottom line is that the STATEWIDE weather conditions are UNPRECEDENTED. It's not a matter of "Well, PREVIOUSLY we came within 10 degrees." I lived in Houston 13 years and they got snow ONCE. They get THREE WEEKS of winter, when it gets down to the UPPER THIRTIES at night. Corpus Christi is about 125 miles SOUTH of Houston.

EPIC FAIL

Out of the 36 seats Texas is apportioned in the U.S. House of Representatives, 13 are held by Democrats:

TX-07: Lizzie Fletcher
TX-09: Al Green
TX-15: Vincente Gonzalez
TX-16: Veronica Escobar
TX-18: Sheila Jackson Lee
TX-20: Joaquin Castro
TX-28: Henry Cuellar
TX-29: Sylvia Garcia
TX-30: Eddie Bernice Johnson
TX-32: Colin Allred
TX-33: Marc Veasey
TX-34: Filemon Vela
TX-35: Lloyd Doggett

Lol, damn you and your.........FACTS!

Completely irrelevant. Texas has it's own power grid and because it's within a single state it's not subject to federal regulation. And there ALSO is no STATE regulation.

The REAL point of the meme is that no Democrat has won ANY statewide position since 1994.

So basically what youre saying is republicans hold a majority of power, more control? By 2/3rds? Is that correct?
0 ups, 3y
Republicans have held ALL the civil and criminal Supreme Court seats (we have 2 Supreme Courts), the governorship and lieutenant governorship (the Texas lieutenant governor has a lot more power than in other states), and all the statewide elected positions. They also have held a controlling majority in both houses of the legislature.

Plus, the Legislature is strongly into gerrymandering, to minimize the chance of any Democrat winning a legislative seat.
