Global warming isn’t tidy, uniform, or consistent. It’s a complex phenomenon and can be explained in graduate-level theses that memers on a meme site are neither prepared to nor interested in discussing.
E.g. there was a small stalling out of the smoothed-out trend line of temperature increase here in the 2000s where I’ve circled, but it was a fleeting pause and warming picked up again with a vengeance in the 2010s.
The two terms you mention describe the same phenomenon. You raise a distinction without a difference.
It’s happening all the same, and if you don’t like what scientists have to say about it, then just ask anyone in a profession that stays closely in touch with the natural world (foresters, fishers, farmers, vintners, etc.) and they will tell you the same.
