Guess logic and cause and effect are lost on them

They lie. They want that FEMA money.

So, I live in Texas.

And there's a strong, "you know what, f**k all y'all!" spark in the state. It has it's upside and downsides.

The GOP plays to that spark and fans it into an anti-federal fire. But when it comes down to it, and Texans see how much the state actually depends on being in the Union, they shut up.

For a month or two.

I find most people on a one to one basis to be good people. It’s true here, in Europe and even China from my experience. It’s the group think that tends to be the loudest voice in the room and in Texas (I haven’t been there in 40 years, so I can only speak for what I hear on the news now) it’s the whole we do things better and bigger and we don’t need the rest of the country crap.

I believe in helping my fellow citizens no matter where they live. Texas needs our help? Great, we’ll help. New Orleans needed our help? We jumped in with both feet. But it’s hard to remain upbeat about it when New York needed help and the elected reps from places like Texas and Mississippi asked how we planned to pay for it before they would help.
