I'm not going to get into the whole global warming issue... I think the real problem here is that the left can't meme. (and based on this meme, their grasp of 5th grade science and physics seems a bit off as well...)

The meme's entire argument is based on the premise that the earth is a closed system, which it's not.

But let's say the earth was a closed system. If the "squeeze the balloon" argument was valid, it would mean the volume of air in the balloon and the earth's temperature would be analogous. That is what you're saying, right OP?

Your argument is that squeezing the balloon reduces the amount of air in the locality of the squeezing, and the air is relocated to somewhere else inside the balloon, correct OP?

Applying that logic to the earth's temperature, you're saying if the temperature goes down in the US, then the temperature somewhere else on earth goes up. Is that correct, OP?

If so, the average "global" temperature would remain the same, just as the "average" volume of air remained the same inside the closed system of the balloon.

Your claim makes no sense in this example, as it's based on a false premise.

Everything you mentioned should be on the table as far as discussing the causes of global warming. And that should include the fact that humans tend to view things within the scope of our relatively short lifetimes when compared to the earth's lifetime. Without global warming, we'd still be in an ice age. Without global cooling, the earth would still be a volcanic hell.

But this guy seems intent on hanging on to silly argument that uses a balloon, and literally proves nothing. His entire premise is false.

A magnetic field has no relation to the atmosphere. that is why it is called the magnetosphere. Its it's own CLOSED SYSTEM. So now what?

The atmosphere does not form any kind of impenetrable barrier around the earth. Hell, the magnetosphere is not even impenetrable. Energy and mass from the solar wind can pass through the magnetosphere.

Stop and think about what you're actually saying. You're saying that it's warmer in the summer than it is in the winter, regardless of location. I suppose I could infer, based on that, that you're still trying to use the "squeeze the balloon" argument to prove global warming.

We aren't reading each others post. I already stated I didnt read your response. It is a simple model, made to make you think about it for yourself. If you have questions, then you need to find the answers. I do know that I have experience with weather measurement equipement, and you need to understand what the EQ is measuring. So, I may know a Little more about complex weather systems than you. Explain humidity, since you know so much about the weather. What exactly is the water content in the air at 100% humidity? Google and get back to me, we can argue over that fact too!

You claim the earth is a closed system. What makes it closed? How can it be closed when there are thousand of tons of material falling to earth from beyond its atmosphere every year? Does heat from the sun reflect off the earth's surface? If so, how does that play into your closed model hypothesis? If the earth is a closed system, why is it's "global" temperature increasing? The "squeeze the balloon" hypothesis doesn't support global warming.

These are just the tiniest number of questions that you would have to address in order for your "squeeze the balloon" hypothesis to be considered valid. You've got a long way to go.
