The amendment clearly states "A well regulated" and it is not a human right, it is a right granted by the government. Human rights are something more along the lines of not being the target of a militia that wants to kidnap and kill you because they disagree with you. If you support the assholes that tried to violently overthrow our elected government, then you are a traitor and the 2nd no longer applies to you.

The way I see it there's a trade-off, I'm fine with background checks and whatnot. Bad people will always find a way to hurt people regardless of the laws put into place.

OK so the second amendment was to ensure folks always have guns for protection from the government. When folks use guns against government and are unsuccessful then they simply go to jail for treason. Therefore the second amendment is just a trap to catch treasonous nutbars. Keep trying I guess.
