Yep, when I was young and stupid :) I got better at it though, found the love of my life and been happily married for 11 years now. It took realizing that the kind of love that matters doesn't just manifest in whoever is right in front of you just because you want it to, it's something that happens over time with someone who is compatible with you. God appointed love is the best, and it's not always convenient, but I'm speaking from experience!

very well said! love comes through God, and speaks the way God does; with a still small voice. sometimes you don't even realize its there, unless you know how to listen.
and congratulations on your marriage, I hope you see many more years of happiness 😊

Yes, that happened to me when I was just a teenager. I actually think a lot of people experience it at some time in their life.

I think that when you're a teenager, you can be a bit overzealous to be in a relationship. either because everyone else is doing it, or because you think that when you 'like' someone thats it.

Never romantically β€œloved” anyone, and never really sought out to do so.

there has been a time or two where someone thought they were in love with me, but I felt were really just in love with the idea, and that they just were misguided somehow. It kinda sounds stuck up in a way...

I hate to admit it, but I think it's a self esteem issue.
1 up, 4y,

So you think it is?
0 ups, 4y
that it's a sell esteem issue? I believe so. the feeling that I might have lead someone to think I am better than I am, has to do with self esteem. there is a difference though between self esteem and stuck up too-good-for-anyone vibes
