From the time he lost the election on November 3, he repeated the claim that the election had been rigged and the Presidency had been stolen. This became a theme in his social media. He also called on his followers to "fight," to "stop the steal," on many occasions, over the months. For example:

"If the liberal Democrats take the Senate and the White House — and they’re not taking this White House — we’re going to fight like hell, I’ll tell you right now." January 4

He had a long history of encouraging violence at MAGA rallies dating back to his campaign of 2016. He told cops to rough up protesters. He said he wanted to beat one of them and told his followers to attack another. He offered to pay the legal expenses of anyone who attacked protesters at his rallies.

To demonstrate the extent of his approval of violence against his "enemies," he pardoned a former Navy Seal who had been charged by members of his own squad of murdering an unarmed and restrained prisoner. This violated the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Code of Conduct of Seals. Many fellow seals testified against him and he was convicted by a Court Martial.

He made many dozens of other incendiary comments to his followers, leading up to the January 6, 2021, Treasonous Insurgency. That is why most of the people who were arrested for that act, who have commented, said they were told by him to do what they did. I take them at their word.

That works as a weak ass excuse, and only if you ignore all the stuff he said for months. Go back to the echo chamber, if you want people to ignore all the facts and focus on cherry-picked B.S. It is just like saying, "I REALLY didn't know the gun was loaded." Take the example of the Real Estate Executive from Texas who flew his private jet to D.C. and went straight to the Capitol Building to support Trump. Did it just occur to him out of thin air that he should do that? He and one of his passengers are facing federal charges that will lose them their livelihoods and freedom. A second passenger is being sought by the feds. These are not "hotheads," who got caught up in the heat of the moment because of a speech. They were encouraged by Trump to come to D.C. for a "Wild," demonstration. He knew what he was saying, and so did they.

Vagabond--I don't like the idea of censorship. It is sometimes necessary. But, not in this case. I believe that everyone can serve a useful purpose, in life. Sometimes an underinformed bigot is just the right bad example to reinforce my beliefs.

I gave you an up vote, because you SAY that you don't like the idea of censorship. IF that is truly the case, allow comments and ALL your memes. The one in question is clearly labeled "COMMENTS DISABLED".

If the comments have been disabled on one of my memes it was done by someone else. I don't know how to do that, nor do I want to know. "Let a hundred flowers bloom. Let a hundred thoughts contend." Mao said that before launching a crackdown on dissenters. It did not help growth, which they needed. History gives us valuable lessons. Some of us read them and heed them.

It isn't censorship per se, as they are still able to post on your memes and reply to your comments. It only allows you to not see it.
But I do agree the more of a variety of opinions that can be seen, the better.

There are those who want blocking to got further, to eliminate the ability of the blocked to reply to the blocker, as they can still offend, harrass, whatever.
But I'd say that's taking it way too far. If they can't take other viewpoints, then perhaps they shouldn't be posting on a platform fitted for it.
