Actually the majority of Republicans condemned the riot and rejected the fraud trials. Don't confuse Trump supporters with all Republicans

A tiny majority (55%) of Republicans condemned the riots — not very inspiring.

Only 10 House Republicans recognized Trump’s role in inciting them was treasonous — even less inspiring.

There is no sign of a large-scale deserting of Trump. Quite the opposite.

Despite Trump leading the GOP to historic losses this election not seen since Herbert Hoover, somehow the Trump/riot apologists are still running the show.

That’s fine by me — as long as they continue to do so, they can continue to lose.

55% isn't too bad compared to the percent of Democrats that condemned blm and antifa riots.

I agree that's quite a disappointment.

I myself am of the opinion that the psychological impact of covid is to blame for riots. Republicans have been pissed about election results many times, but never have they stormed the capital in a coup attempt until now. Likewise blm has existed since 2013 and 2020 wasn't the first time police used excessive force on an unarmed black man. Again, there was never a nationwide looting, rioting, and burning of flags until recently. The common factor here is people sick of life locked down and thus are becoming increasingly aggressive.

Also I think the capital riot was planned in advance, not triggered by rump's speech. I understand he used the word fight a lot but that's not enough being that politicians use it all the time in hyperbolic sense. The only things he directly told the crowd to do was to cheer on their fellow Republican senators and "peacefully and patriotically" make their voices heard. There was no call for violence in his speech.

I would support proving he incited it. If you could. Then I would support the various Democrat invitations and support to BLM and Antifa violence. Schumer threatened two Supreme Court justices were going to reap the whirlwind

You would have to call bailing out criminally charged rioters as inciting their actions. But they didn't.
