Japan is an amazing place to visit and live.
Despite it's popularity, Japan is dropping in population. It's a very conservative culture, but they are rather open to foreigners that live there. Very safe. Anime is not as big in Japan as you might think, probably because you are younger, however it's still a very big culture. It's like hamburgers. America invented them I think, and it's super popular here but it diffused to different areas in the world in the form of Mcdonalds. Saying that every American eats Macdonalds is like saying everyone in Japan loves anime. It's stereotypical. When people talk about Japan, it is most likely that they are talking about Tokyo, which is the largest city in the world, twice the size of New York. There are still rural areas and smaller cities, but Japan is dependent on it's primate city.
