You're still getting Alberta oil via rail, allways have been, how do you think you're getting it now? It was just another pipeline to go with the thousands of miles already in existance. And since the idea of KXL in '05 and construction started in '15, the US has ramped up fracking to lessen the dependance on foreign oil. It would have created 1000 jobs for the construction of the pipeline due to begin operation in '23, then where would those 1000 jobs go after completion? We are building the Trans Mountain pipeline from Alta to the BC coast to bring oil to freighters to ship to Texas right now, just another method of transport. I'm all for pipelines, it's clean, safe, and a cost effective method of transport.
