We agree, when I say the only evil in America is racism, I don’t think the majority of us are racist. I do believe that if there is one thing about our country that could be called evil it would be racism. It doesn’t dominate us but it has been part of us since the beginning. It has nothing to do with any party or religion. Racism has existed throughout mans history, when any one race felt another was less. Unfortunately, racism has played a huge part of our history but I don’t think it defines us or our problems now. Slavery was racism as I’m sure you know. We looked at them as less than human , but now , there are many roadblocks that a man like me couldn’t understand. And I don’t think it’s conscious racism, I did time in the penitentiary with majority black folks. And the time I had gotten in 1993 was not equal to the time my black cell mate got for a similar crime. I was looking at 4-15 years. He was looking at 6-30. I was selling powder coke, he was selling crack coke. We were both wrong. But I was able to get my life together and start a family and a business. I’m successful now. My four kids are good. I’m not sure I can say the same for him.

I don’t deny it exists or that there are still prejudices. Most people still possess bias and prejudice. It can be not liking fat people or short people or people who dress a certain way. That reasonable. I am not convinced and will likely never be satisfied that there wasn’t election fraud. I have never seen them stop counts overnight in any election ever before. It doesn’t seem to fit that Republicans picked up house seats and a net 144 gain in state legislatures. Changing the vote laws and verifications right before what was known to be a hugely contested election regardless of who won doesn’t add to confidence. Those changes brought the question up. Mass mailed balance are a travesty. Just sending out balance to people who aren’t alive, don’t live there anymore etc. is anathema to fair elections. Had no changes been made I would have had less reason to question.

I believe the racism is exaggerated. I don’t see how immigrant groups have been able to succeed in such a racist environment. The Asians thrive in this “racism,” the Latinos and others from other nations seem to be able to progress. Are there poor Latinos yes. Most are the newer immigrants. The failures are also partly cultural. The Asians by and large have strong family bonds and fathers stay in the home. They put value on education and effort. If they had fatherless homes and glorified gangsters they wouldn’t succeed either.
