Our Forefather's Foremost Thought Was To Protect The Newly Formed Government. That Has Not Changed

The two party system is actually about unity- it functions on trust and a combined effort to bring the opposing opinions to unified solutions. However it does not work well when people refuse to work together and hold the constitution hostage for their agendas.
Political systems similar to what is managed by the UK is by FAR more divisive.

That's just it. It has never done what "it's supposed to do". It does what the majority tells it to do. In a general election that's fine because, "The People have spoken". In Congress? The people don't enter into those debates. Whomever paid the speaker the most wins. It is how it ends every single time. We don't vote for politicans. We vote for their sponsors.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. There is no way around that mountain.

We could all choose to only vote for politicians that don't accept money from lobby groups.
