It's great to give $ to people when you have extra, or even some. Checked the Treasury ? We Don't. They aren't even bothering to crank up the printing presses anymore, they are just pulling it out of thin air, or their asses. (Whichever you prefer)

Quick maths test!

Think about every tax you've paid since 2016 on your job, house, car, purchases, everything.
Then multiply it by the realistic number of years you have left to live and/or work.
Then multiply that by every family member, friend and close neighbour.
and voila! you have just paid ....for a fraction of the gender studies budget thats soon to be loaded on a plane and sent to Pakistan.

Actually, I saw this in a thread somewhere... If you and 9 friends spent all your taxes on it, you'd have paid for around 60% of it. Otherwise, for all taxpaying Americans it's a one time 6$.

By all means, let that sucker fly! Empower women in Pakistan!

Ofcourse you wouldn't be bothered by it, the idea of you being anything other than a welfare sponge is laughable. Perhaps if you did a job you'd understand

Interesting you make that accusation without proof.

But let's ignore the fact that you're against helping women get equal rights in other countries because you don't wanna be shafted six bucks.

'Accusation' ... its a factual representation of you though
Don't hate me, hate yourself for not being raised right. No father I think.

Factual representations. So you don't have respect for women as you don't advocate this program. Which means that most likely your dad beat you and your mother. Which, makes you statistically more likely to do the same thing that your father did. As such, you hate yourself and can't live with your shame so you lash out at other people in a narcissistic rage to try to numb the pain that you've been unable to address because you've been led to believe that Mental Illness is a myth because you "Turned out fine." Yet, are still in denial of your trauma. That denial leads you to project your issues onto others so that you can pretend the issue is does not lie with you but everyone else and that's the lie of which you convince yourself. Perhaps, this is why you never really had a father in the first place, ergo your projection onto me.

But I don't know you.

So it's really none of my business.

I have heard that there are movements within Islam where they are empowering their women. There are those who want this change. Even fathers within Islam have started to want better for their daughters. Change is never easy, we all know that. In order to start change, it has to exist where it isn't welcome, I would surmise.

Thank you for your tactful response, by the way,.

Unfortunately their holy book requires that women hide their faces and bodies from men in public and the men are required to treat their women like servants and slaves and the women are to allow them to do that. There's no getting around it.

Not all places. The Quran has a passage that permits progressive reinterpretation. Conservative males oppose this. The women don't. Well, some women do. Iran has thrown off their Hijabs or at least has started to. As cultures are neighboring or in the same region, this will start to catch like fire, or so I believe.

Pulling troops out of foreign countries. I'm not talking about our allies. I'm talking about all the countries we destabilize and then illegally occupy. A lot of them in the middle east, like Afghanistan will never become a stable country. All we are doing there is guarding the Chinese rare materials trade highway.
>> I don't know anything about the Chinese really. I understand there's a lot of hate for them. Yes, Commi government, I get that. Yeah, they have different rules of government. That's where my not-so-clear line gets drawn. It's not our place to tell people how to govern. If people want change, they must do it themselves. They shouldn't be our enemies because of this. But again, bag of worms I don't want to get into. It's not on my focus right now. Lol. Ironically, I am more concerned with America, that is our social disaster we're dealing with. In effect, I am putting America first. How ironic is that?! LMAO I'm busting a gut.

Reducing regulations: Yes. On everything. I like Trumps idea of get rid of 2 to implement 1. I think that since these people have jobs in the regulation parts of the government they feel obligated to make regulations, many of which are outdated, based on bad science, or are worded in a way that gets rid of progress.
>> Some things true. I can think of a few regulations (with some research) that were actually dangerous to take the restrictions off of our country.

Any legislation to regulate or ban firearms (the proper way to deal with this is a constitutional amendment), >> In order to make an amendment doesn't it have to go through the house first?
any regulation that allows speech to be silenced (such as section 230), any regulation that interferes with religion in any way (such as special filings for taxes that require they don't engage in politics), etc...etc...
>> That's my other issue I had. The Christian vote. I used to be Christian. I have my reasons for not being christian. But the marriage of church and state is becoming a blurry line as there are some Repubs who are trying to push Christian Agendas/ways of living. That's not what we're about.

when I voiced my opposition to him, I kept getting. "But her emails." and "Benghazi."

That's it? We have a guy who is bullying the disabled, making mass gerenalizations about people who oppose him, talking about building a wall which I could only understand as a monument to racism against immigrants from Mexico, endorses the "F**k your feelings." slogan. Throwing out MAGA as if America wasn't already great in my life time. Life had certainly been better for many Americans who were adults in the 90s... but... Yeah. I understand the desire for change.

On inauguration day, I had swallowed my pride and was ready for potentially eight years of Trump as in my life time, eight year presidencies are all I'd known.

On inauguration day, he attacked my healthcare vis a vis Obamacare. Or, Affordable Care Act. Something I had heard Republicans talking about for years. Not cool, man. Melania started showing her jewelry line on whitehouse.gov. So, now the whitehouse was being prostituted to sell Melania's Jewelry. First I heard of a first lady ever doing this. I don't agree with it, but whatever. Go you.

Trump still hadn't signed over his paperwork for his businesses. I was under the impression you're supposed to do that. Then he started bragging about his inauguration. That claim was phony. So, we have a President who's insecure in the White House?

This can only end well. Politics don't work for insecure people.

After Trump was accused of having dealings with Russia, he refused to release his taxes. Dude, why? Just be honest and show them. (I didn't learn until 2019 that you can still be under audit and reveal your taxes.) Finally, after three days of being an executive at 400 different companies, trump resigned them. But he didn't divest his assets. "Come on man, all the way."

Mind you, we're still in January 2017. This is all happening while Trump's base is "HAHA YOU LOSE CRY MORE LIB CRY MOAR DEMORAT." I was pushed into the Democrat party against my will. I was made into a lib for simply opposing Trump and the shenanigans he was doing. In spite of being registered as Independent, People kept identifying me as Democrat/Liberal.

It's been a downhill shit show ever sence.

My takeaway? Tribalism f**king sucks. Not only does it eliminate any middle ground between parties, but it limits the scope on which one can trade ideas with people from their own party and the opposition as one can be socially conservative and economically liberal. There's so many (more)

Well, I am glad you asked. But, in the spirit of listening, I will acknowledge what you're talking about.

Pro-legal immigration. Yes. A thousand times this. I understand we all want this. I understand that our legal system designed to bring in immigrants is clogged. I understand that despite this, people keep coming. I understand that we want to keep track of them. The subject of how this is done is the point of controversy. I ask why this point has to be discussed in such an incendiary manner as it has in years passed (past?) I understand that criminals come in with other immigrants. I understand there's spill over. I understand that this isn't true of all of them.

Pulling troops out of foreign countries. I'm really on the fence on this one. I understand that we have allies that need our help. I don't know the details of our relationship with them. Do we trade with them? Maybe it's simply part of the UN that we are obliged to do our part in protecting. Maybe we do put in too much work compared to everyone else. Is it because we have more land? More natural resources? Higher populations than other countries? I'm not sure. On principle though, I don't favor the idea of leaving a country high and dry, defenseless for the sake of bringing our boys home. I have a brother who was in the marines. He finished his four year tenure as a Sergeant. He voiced his opinion that he hated withdrawals as it felt like the mission was incomplete. (Speaking in the context of Afghanistan in the 2007-2008 area, I think) If we withdraw, It's my opinion that we should leave something of equal defense behind that they can use. After all, they're our allies. That's gotta speak for something. So yes, troops home, good. But, need to do things first. Let's focus on that.

Reducing regulations - on what? This is kinda broad. Environmental regulations? Trade? Policies? Practicies?

Cleaning up corrupt government. Everyone's behind this. I think we've all been gaslit in some way or another as to the who's who on corruption. Gaslighting with conjecture. Just last night I asked - why is Nancy Impeaching now? Seems ridiculous. I found an answer that likely makes sense. I asked, why is Mitch delaying until the 19th? I found a likely answer. Do Politicians play shadowgames? Yes. They have to it's part of being a politician. So, to what degree do we define corruption? Dark money? Agreements made under the table? People acting on principle? I need more to go on. (more)

There's so many aspects to politics you -CANNOT- lump them into a single binary construct of us v. them. I've been on the defense since then. Rapidly trying to catch up on everything that's led to this for other people, researching everything that's been happening since about 2008 as that's apparently when so many republicans got angry at Obama. No one really talks about George Bush in politics these days. Clinton is referenced more often than Bush. Why is that I wonder.

It's 2021, and I've learned - a lot - about politics and I still am learning shit. Regardless of whatever I learn, the theme is the same. Tribalism. Being that I've been on the defensive for so long, I fell into it. I was caught off guard. Three years passed of Trump calling Democrats all sorts of names. And simply because I was thrust into the tribalism that took place. I became a democrat without my choosing. I could have been more proactive and chose Trump. But, he had already done too much for me to accept him as a leader (I accepted his office) as he lacked the empathy needed for the role of leadership. I later learned things about Obama that were bad. I didn't want to admit they were bad. I didn't know why, until now. Because if I admitted it, that means that I was wrong about my perception of the left. Or that's what it felt like. I was so defensive from the vitriol I received I started resorting to whataboutisms in good faith, of course. "Why are you mad at him for this when trump (or some big name trump supporter) does this? Snowflake.

As I said, I knew this wasn't going to end well. The gloating that ensued for four years, the excuses made, the constant toxicity of the political climate. I said it in 2017 and I stand by it now. I honestly thought Trump was going to attempt to take control of the country.

What happened on 1/6 ... Imagine having PTSD for something that never happened but did. Trump replaced all staff with people who were his supporters. Many weren't qualified for their jobs. He just wanted loyalty. That's alarming. He started replacing judges with people who had no experience in law. That was unsettling. Anyone who crossed him was an enemy of the state. Jesus f**king christ dude. Stop. Anyone who was critical of him was an enemy of the state.

Insecurity doesn't mix well with Politics.

Im gonna skip the Mueller report, thats a long story itself.

Skip the Ukraine call, another long story.

As for me?

Like I said, I talked about this on another meme. Stay a while, and listen.

Before 2015, I was lucky enough to not have politics interfere with my daily life. The only two ways I knew it affected me was the recession, and the efforts made to fix it. I know that finding work after graduating from my first trade school amounted to nothing due to lack of jobs in 2008 because of the recession. I still don't work as a medical assistant.
Then Obama was elected. "Neat we have our first African-American President. Maybe he can stop this war that's apparently costing us so much money."
The next few years passed without much to notice on the political change scene for me.
I worked as a caregiver. No union, no health insurance, $9.00/hr to be paid to apply what skills I had to caregiving for the developmentally disabled. I was paid this amount to be screamed at, bit, clawed, punched, struck, kicked and there was even one client who had the mentality of an eight year old but was also a pedophile. I had to be his caregiver. While at the same time I was sickened of this person by what he was. I also pitied him as he really was just a large child with the same level of comprehension and thinking. I didn't know how to feel. Hell, sometimes I still don't. (There is a point to this.)
I left that company as I started working 77 hours a week: three 12 hour days and one five hour shift at that job, and another three 12 hour days at Hewlett Packard testing around 12 printers simultaneously pushing out 1200 paper print jobs, checking for paper jams, multi-picks, damaged media (paper), trailing picks, misalignment faults and so on. Can you guess how hard it was to stay awake at a job where you waited for printers to print 1,200 papers? To add insult to injury, sometimes I would pull nightshifts at the caregiving job, working for a full 29-hour day.
But why? I need to pay child-support. The cost of living was extremely high and the laws of where I live state that regardless whether you're on time or not with your checks, your wages are automatically garnished for childsupport. You are garnished at a minimum of 250$/child or a 1/3rd of your paycheck, whichever is cheaper. One minimum wage full time job can't cover that. You need an apartment for visitation.
After getting in trouble with my boss for trying to relate with a 17 year old kid at my job whose parents hated him, I tried to befriend him and let him know that someone cared what happened to him. (more)

8/ June, Trump echoes his speech in 2015: "If I lose, it's because ..."
"If I lose it's because they cheated." Alright dude, whatever.

The unthinkable happens. He lost. The same guy who made the same claims launches full on investigations, exhausting every legal option possible to display his claim that he was the legal winner. If this was the case, why didn't he choose to investigate his own election the first time around? Because he won. The notion of voter fraud didn't matter. It should. A prime double standard by Prez himself. First election the claim was made. He was elected, no investigation. Second election, same claim, he lost, then goes ballistic until ...

NOW.

His rhetoric of a stolen election became so toxic and so dangerous that people felt the need to attack the capitol. In my eyes, he failed on the voter front. He failed on the executive front with the DOJ that he had groomed to be loyal to him. The judges he had put in the courts as loyalists had now failed him. The supreme court he debatably legitimately put in had failed him. In my eyes if we hadn't resisted as much as he did, he could have easily had 12+ years in office. I could never tell when he was joking, and when he wasn't. But that's how he operates. He uses "Jokes" to be serious. When he's confronted with his serious claims, he says he's only joking. The _classic_ bully trope.

And here we are. Trump is calling for peace and unity after four years of having the opportunity to do so, having failed his numerous election litigations, his supreme court, his recounts. All the while stating his belief as fact. Making absolution statements. It only cost us an attack on the capitol.

I know I skipped the BLM. I skipped COVID, we're al already up to date where we both feel on that. I felt it wasn't needed.

But everything else describes the consistent symptoms that have ultimately led to where we are now.

I'm not anti-Trump Policies. I am anti-Trump, the person. I'm not anti-Trump office. I am anti-Trump conduct. The man is dangerous.

Thanks for reading.
Maybe this can shed some light on why I think the way I do. I fully expect the likelihood that these posts will be used against me. But as I've said over and over....

Our current social interactions in America...

Is.

Not.

Working.

I asked my boss if I could get him involved with airsoft, teaching him about gun safety, bringing my own supplies, never letting him own his own. It was a good sport, we had fun, we got out and we shot each other with those cheap 10$ spring-cocked airsoft pistols that you get at Bi-Mart.
A couple months later of honest fun, developing a relationship that he didn't share with anyone else - noticeable improvement in his behavior (the kid wasn't developmentally challenged, just had anger issues... reportedly... I am going to reinforce that this kid's parents abandoned him. As well as the rest of the family. I understood.) I figured progress was being made, he was getting better by having a friend who listened to him and engaged with him on supervised levels of doing a sport that he enjoyed.
Well, to my dismay, someone had purchased him gas powered airsoft rifles and he had reportedly shot at a cat. Another staff apparently had shown interest in what I was doing and did it under everyone's nose. I was made the scapegoat for the company as the parents wrath that they had for this client was now directed at me with police.

Investigation was inconclusive. "All this for nine f**king bucks an hour." I said.

In the investigation I told the investigator I no longer sought employ with this company for how it handed me to the parents on a silver platter to scream and yell at. Only problem is, two months prior I resigned my job at HP because I was just too tired. I averaged four hours of sleep a night with a 30 minute commute to the place. (To this day I sleep at most four hours.)
I lost both jobs and was forced again to find work with a black mark on my caregiving record. Great. I lost all of my credibility in this field for trying to care for someone and show empathy. Hello temp jobs. The most unstable horrifying sector of work. Nearly went homeless, but my grandfather recently died so I was nursing that inheritance to stay afloat.

Now we start coming to where politics starts to affect me more. I explained all this to display where I was at financially because of the economic and job policies that were put in place. I had to work at that job 40 hrs/wk for insurance. Which, working that job is mentally and physically taxing. I have a lot of scars from being scratched by clients.

Fast forward 2 years of attempting community college and working temp jobs, finding a stable g/f who turned out to be a toxic manipulative bitch who lived in a place called Tillamook (m

I'm not here in this chain of messages to debate his politics. I can handle differing views of politics. I'm here to discuss Tribalism. The rhetoric used as I have witnessed it by the President and the actions that reinforce his rhetoric. Worse, his rhetoric reinforces his actions among his base.

The 25th Amendment for mental illness applies to no one as it's a mental stability test from 1960's. -WAY- outdated. It is in my opinion that he's a narcissist. Many talk about their encounters with him. (Supporters and Opposition alike.) He talks about himself a lot. You get what you want by coddling to him and stroking his ego. You get nothing done by opposing him. This mindset makes him easy to manipulate by other countries.

His ego is something that needs to be sated at all times. He craves the attention, he craves the praise. You do the opposite? Look out, he will burn the shit out of you.

The role of the President is the political/business prime rib of getting attention. I could go on about why I think he's a danger to the country. If I were to summarize my support to impeach him in one or two sentences, it would be this:

"The President has had a continuing history since before his Presidency to show a lack of forethought into what he speaks. While admirable, it has been at the cost of many controversies which limits our political climate to function properly whether he intends his message or not. That carelessness which has already warranted him one impeachment has now caused his base to act on the suggested rhetoric. We've gone from "Those Democrats (2015)" to "Those communist/socialists are trying to steal your country. You have to fight. Those who don't fight for their country are weak." [paraphrase.] In this, his rhetoric has led to where we are today. I cannot in good conscience consider the notion of permitting him the ability to hold public office again."

Speech craft/PC should be in the job description. Because maybe he may not have intended the riot. It certainly was the takeaway from the crowd. Given the riots on Dec 20th at Cap Hill, it lends the suggestion that he has a disconnect from the reality of his base and lack for a feel for the heartbeat of his people.

I don't want to debate his policies. Any president can have his policies.

Thanks for staying this long. Kudos man. F**kin Kudos.

Tillamook, a place where you're either in with the family business, or you're lucky enough to have a job with a corporate/franchise chain entity that no one gives up. On top of that, I was not hired because I could never satisfy that personality questionnaire they give you because I overthink everything. All the time.

Skip that year. I move back to central oregon as I hear jobs are starting to spring up. Mitt Romney just lost the election. I heard talk that he was pro-life, suggestions of overturning Roe v. Wade. My toxic g/f told me what that was. I took the side against Mitt because I felt that while abortion is horrible, ultimately the choice should belong to the woman having to endure the consequences of abortion/birth. It's not my place to interfere in other's lives, much as I would expect the same of me. I wouldn't want population controls implemented on me.

I found work as a private, in-home caregiver. Luckily this family already had experience with my previous employer. It wasn't good. Apparently staff had made these twins (now in their 30s) fight as children over food. As such, she quit sending them to group homes. I received a little more than last time. Only now, there was no way to reach 40 hour work weeks. It simply was not available. Only two shifts any given day: 7a-12p and 3p-7p.

I'm renting rooms now, unable to sustain my child's welfare, I had to sign away my rights. I was not in a position to be a model father. It was a hard decision. It's now 2013 and I hear that our government has enabled us to have unions now for our line of work. We also got a raise. Full time was now reduced to 30 hours instead of 40. $13/hr, full medical, dental, vision. Oh man. Thanks Obama. And that's pretty much all I knew. he helped me.

Now that I have set the context for my political origins, we now get to the meat of the subject. If you've stayed this long, thanks for listening. _I appreciate it_ Confused? Ask me why I thought it was relevant.(more)

In 2015, I was due to be married that August, and that's the first time I heard about DJT running for office. "Huh," I thought. "Neat." I had at this point met my share of "Feminazis, and SJWs. I thought that was some of the most toxic shit I'd seen. Definitely didn't want to associate with them. The term "liberal" wasn't "liberally" used yet. I was still registered independent at this time as I had no reason to be in one party or the other. Why should I? The year that followed made this inexorably clear.

I quickly learned that Trump "spoke his mind." I checked it out and, while I understand why this is an admirable trait in a person, I thought it wasn't enough to vote for him. I thought "Well, Democrats have so far treated me well. I didn't become a voter until 2005 in a Republican era of recession. There must be something to that. Unless DJT has a good reason for me to think that there is reason to vote for him then I will keep my vote to the left. Egh. Hilary. Not too crazy about that idea either. She reminds me of a shark with that smile.

I started noticing the colliquial "cult of Trump." It adopted a form of masculinity that I wasn't too fond of. Macho men that sorta thing. Phrases like "Do it to it." Themes like "Taking care of business." And then then I started seeing it on the interwebs. "TRUMP" people kept saying. Individually, none of these things are bad. But all together, it was just cringey at best. No more cringey than Hilary though, granted.

People started saying things like "Benghazi." I said "What the hell is a benghazi?" At the time, I saw it through my jaded goggles of the previous wars that more people died over in the middle east. More violence. Hilary had something to do with it. "Well, that's it for her, I thought." Some sort of leak or something that implied a lack of sound judgement, I thought at the time. That's when things started getting heated. I remember that my first head turner was the debates between Hillary and Trump. He was breaking norms. Breaking tradition, something people applauded. I get it, shake things up, disrupt the status quo to make change. But, there's a reason we have these traditions. Long, time honored, traditions. I started talking to people about it on the internet... (more)

Not for me man. I have never watched political news until about six months after Trump was in office. Not once. If you want, I would like to share my story with you, perhaps in private messages, why I have come to have such a negative disposition on Trump and those of his most loyal supporters. disclaimer, I know it's not a one way street between parties, and I readily and fully accept that. But we really need to look at both sides of this. We need to look at this as people having multiple entry points into the various political arenas that exist on the internet. I feel that I can't tell my story enough. You wanna tell me yours first in a PM? I have my reasons for identifying with the left/democrat purely on interactions with the Trump camp. Also reasons on policy as I am sure you have yours, I get that. I do. It can be hard to accept such perspectives when presented in tactless manners from both sides.

So, let's mend this divide or mark my words this country will tear itself apart. It needs to start somewhere. As far as I am concerned, the internet, places of memes and the like are the front lines of this social/culture war we have. We need to find another way because this simply isn't working.

I hope we can all agree on that.

I don't do PMs except with mods.

My reason for supporting Trump is that his views align with mine. He's pro-legal-immigration, pulling troops out of foreign countries, reducing regulations, lowering taxes, and cleaning up our corrupt government.

What is your reason for not doing it?

I watch all the different news stations and some fringe ones like infowars and banned.video. What I've found is that the fringe ones are more honest than the mainstream ones. I've verified that CNN alone has lied thousands of times about Trump.

You probably heard cut up clips of what he said. He said something along the lines of "they let you..." meaning consent. Every red blooded male is designed to desire sexual gratification.

Mitch is delaying until the 19th because even he, as corrupt as he is, has some standards. I would define corruption as any attempt to implement seditious or treasonous legislation or being paid/lobbied by foreign donors or countries. Most politicians are guilty. A lot of legislation is seditious or treasonous including: Any legislation to regulate or ban firearms (the proper way to deal with this is a constitutional amendment), any regulation that allows speech to be silenced (such as section 230), any regulation that interferes with religion in any way (such as special filings for taxes that require they don't engage in politics), etc...etc...

The main misunderstanding here is that you don't seem to understand that we have guns so the government will not try to lock us down and take our rights. So we need military style guns. Its kind of like what keeps all the countries from nuking each other. Mutually assured destruction. If the military were ever to try to implement a police state and take away our guns and rights, they would destroy themselves and we would destroy ourselves and foreign countries would come in and take over. This was pointed out in many of the writings of the founding fathers.
So limiting ammo boxes, etc...etc... are out. Real solutions would be better security and everyone being armed. Do you know why gun shows never get shot up? Because the shooter would be dead before they got more than a round or two off.
As long as we have a lawless Mexico on our southern border, there will never be a lack of guns coming in, regardless of our laws.

It's messy. It's a braindump. Thoughts may be incomplete. I evidently got the sequence out of order... but meh I'm talking about this because I want the toxicity to end.

Both sides are right - if we dont find a way to heal or at least start treating eachother with a modicum of respect, we as a country, will fall; we will implode. The only reason why I wrote this novella is because somebody somewhere has to make the move. I'll put myself out there for trolling in the name of saving us from civil war.

Civil war. I don't want it. No one should. I grew up thinking we're a brotherhood. F**K I am shutting up now. Stupid... I could write like Leo Tolstoy if I wanted to. (I only know this name because my son habitually watches the movie "PEANUTS" the charlie brown movie and he tries to do a Book report on Leo Tolstoy's "War on Peace.")
