really? Why? I understand if Apple and Google (Android) drop the app from their stores but why would Parler have to shut down their operations?

Amazon AWS hosts it and they cited they didn't react in many cases their users violated terms of service. Amazon notified them and issued warnings. Some very bad things were left unaddressed.

And no one else will touch them, even their lawyers bailed.

I signed up yesterday and I was getting ready to troll it and the infamous Colonel Perez on it. But just like that, the website is gone.

After the exodus, do you think they'll be caravaning back to Facebook?

Gab is in the running. I understand they run their own servers. I'm actually shocked there isn't a decentralized option that's found any kind of success.
I champion crypto for the great things it may accomplish. However, a Parler type environment with no means to be stopped or censored is one of the unfortunate possibilities. Seeing how ugly the postings can get has put me in fear of that of late.

I now read recently that Parler is going to try to get back online in a week maybe.

Good luck to them. They'll have to set up hosting with somebody particularly skeezy.
