Those silly nukes...

Ok, so first off the nuke codes are listed on a piece of paper hidden on the presidents body. It has 50 or so lines of codes and only one activates the nukes. The others cause a shutdown until the codes can be reset. The president only has to remember which line to look at.

There are no "codes" to remember. There is, however, an aide with a "nuclear football" that is used if the CinC gives the launch order the aide sends the order out.
