The issue being that you're looking at two things which are riots. When the words "Mostly peaceful" are used they are referring to the thousands of other BLM/ANTIFA protests (the message relating to issues of police brutality) which didn't end in violence. Of that data set, 92% were peaceful from the movement which is/was comprised of 25 million people at the time. In June, of that 25 million headcount, only 14k were arrested which results in a total of 00.07% of protesters are violent relating to that issue.

So far, for the issue involving Mike Pence not doing what Trumpers wanted him to do, there has been one protest. Of that protest, it has turned violent. Making 100% of protests involving this issue 100% violent.

I had a friend from England that had immigrated to America several years before I met him. He went to the doctor for a regular check up. His doctor found a problem with his heart. 3 days later my friend was having open heart surgery. While he was recovering his sister, who still lives in England called to check up on him. She was astounded at how quick that happened. If he was in England he would have been put on a waiting list for a year waiting for that type of surgery. And he would have had to travel to London (he was from northern England) for the surgery, there were no doctors who could perform that surgery where he used to live.

So if you think that waiting a year for critical surgeries is a good thing then government run healthcare is great.

If the world turned Socialist we would slow progress down to like it was before the United States was founded. In the short 200 years this country has existed we have made technological strides that would have take 2,000 years if we still lived in a feudal system and Socialism is even less progressive than monarchies.

Throughout the history of mankind we progressed at pretty much a consistent pace. This was because there were very few times where mankind experienced any kind of freedom. Ancient Rome (before the Caesars) was one of the few times mankind was free. Rome advanced at a much faster rate technologically speaking. But that freedom was soon lost after corruption set in the Roman government. That is when the Caesars rose to power.

Progress slowed back down. It started to pick back up a little during the Renaissance but not as much.

When the American revolution happened and freedom, like never had been had before, was given to the individual progress shot up like it had never done before. What took 2,000 years to produce was now done in 200 years. We went from living pretty much like mankind had lived for centuries to now we have more than anyone could have imagined in 1776.

Soon Europe begin to take notice at what we had done and the monarchs begin to be relegated to minor roles (like in England) or removed altogether (like France). Europe was never as free as we were but they had become much freer than they were. That caused them to keep up with all of the technological advances. We still lead the way.

This happened because of freedom and a free market (or that despised word that Karl Marx coined, Capitalism). This didn't just affect the rich like everyone thinks. This affected everyone. That is why our poverty level starts at people earning $30,000 per year and the rest of the world that same rate of pay is in the top 1%.

I know all you have ever heard is how awful America is but what you are missing is how freedom changed the world. Freedom is being shut back down again because of the control freaks on the left. Democrats HATE freedom. They want everything and everyone controlled by the government and they call that progress or fairness.

Instead of paying for specific services, you pay (and pay a ton more) in taxes. Bernie Sanders' example of a Socialist paradise, Denmark, is 1) not Socialist and 2) taxed to death. A car in Denmark costs 3 times as much as in the US entirely because of taxes.

They had never busted INTO a federal office building. They did not steal official documents or laptops belonging to lawmakers.

So, sure. You can go with your silver lining. If you use this silver lining as a justification that this riot was "better" than BLM riots, that indicates a serious disconnect in how seriously this attack is being taken.
