I read something somewhere about something and it referenced socialism vs capitalism and the most succinct summary was: people are turning more and more to socialism because capitalism is not taking care of peoples’ basic needs.

We can get into who’s responsible for what in a different post with a different troll, but that’s a fairly accurate assemessmet.

Indeed: and when Walmart/McD’s underpay employees knowing that Uncle Sam will pick up the slack, that is actually socializing costs and privatizing profits.

Call that socialism, call that crony capitalism, or whatever. But it’s not right or fair to the worker or the taxpayer any way you slice it.
