We’ll see how this story develops, but I guess for now we can breathe a sigh of relief that this investigation was buried deep within the state apparatus and didn’t get into Trump or Giuliani’s hands before the election so they could relentlessly politicize and distort whatever the hell the professionals were investigating.
Professionals doing their jobs! Even in the time of Trump! Imagine that.
Ultimately, whatever Hunter did or didn’t do will surely pale in comparison to a full accounting of Trump and his family’s grift and graft and criminal and criminally negligent misdeeds, all of which will start to really come to light after Trump leaves office and becomes subject to real civil and criminal suits, so it doesn’t really matter.
Honestly, I’d rather Trumpies focus on this relatively normal and small-bore scandal rather than continue their efforts to overturn the election, violently threaten officials of both parties, etc etc.
